Blazers on NBA TV Dish Network?
Not sure if this is appropriate here but here goes. Does anyone else get Dish Network in Portland and had NBA TV game blocked out Saturday against Charlotte? I'm just trying to figure out why it was blacked out. DIsh Network reps couldn't tell me and an e-mail to them prompted a cut and paste policy statement. I can't figure out why they would black it out.
I have NBA League Pass Broadband and it was blacked out due to the fact that I was supposed to get it locally on NBA TV. DIsh blacked out NBA TV due to.....????
I'm hoping this was just a mistake and it will not happen again. Jeez it wasn't even on 95.5.

I don't know for certain
but aren’t all the Blazer games blacked out in Portland?
Aren't all Blazer games on Comcast?
Did I make a mistake getting League Pass Broadband? Every comcast game will be blocked? Yikes!

no, LPBB
only blacks out network broadcasts. KGW (i think), ESPN, TNT. CSN games are not blacked out.

Okay....
So why would saturday’s game against Charlotte be blacked out?
by JeffePortland on Nov 15, 2009 5:08 PM PST up reply actions
because
I don’t know about Dish, that’s a stupid blackout, but it was a game that was decided to be aired on NBATV after the schedules and network schedules were released. Every promotional lists CSN as the carrier for that game, so that’s the way it stays, otherwise CSN has competition they didn’t sign up for. So they blackout the NBATV game…

I have watched three other games on NBA TV LP Broadband that were shown on CSN.
So that doesn’t seem to be the issue with the broadband blackout.
This is the first ever Blazer game that I have seen blacked out of NBA TV. Is Dish N going to black out away ESPN games because they are on CSN? And then I suppose NBA LP Broadband will black it out due to it being on ESPN. Makes me want to scream.
Now I know not to buy League Pass Broadband.

David Stern hates you
You need to send him more money to placate him. . .

Unfortunately....
" *Nationally and locally televised games are subject to blackout and are therefore not available via NBA LEAGUE PASS BROADBAND
(regardless of whether team is home or away). Click here to review the NBA LEAGUE PASS BROADBAND blackout rules."
They are ALL blacked out. You can only get them through Comcast or get the KGW streaming games online.
OK. So who broadcast it nationally or locally? I couldn’t find it anywhere. That is why I called NBA League Pass and Dish. No answers.
If I could get a coherent answer from any of the companies involved in this I’d at least know where to leave the flaming bag of …. oh never mind.

"Coherent DISH answers" would be an oxymoron
Over the years I stopped trying.

Looked interesting
But this didn’t seem to do anything. I’m certainly still getting blackouts that I’m supposed to be getting, so I can’t see it help this same situation coming up again.

I downloaded this
and I ran the app, went to the web page and ran it. Connected etc. but I’m still blocked from the blackouts that I should be (ie: the teams I didn’t sign up for).
I’m don’t see how this is going to help me if this same thing happens again.

Maybe the teams are tied to my account but the blackouts of those teams are via location.
I’ll try this next time it comes up. Thanks for the tip.

I know for DirecTV they go with the Billing address. The only problem is you will lose your local HD channels.
On a side note, I watched a blazergame on the comcast broadband back when they had the “free preview weekend”. Other people said their game was blacked out but mine was not. I have verizon fios internet and I"m wondering if comcast couldn’t determine my location in order to black it out? Curious non the less.
oops
It was NBA league pass broadband and not comcast broadband.
