I think if we double those estimates, it might get close...
The really interesting question is whether KP will try to use the injury as on opportunity to negotiate a new contract. It was looking like Portland wouldn’t be able to afford keeping Travis, but the injury during the contract year might reasonably be expected to lower his value to other teams…

I thought that you could sign an extension to a player with Bird Rights before the end of the season. I might be wrong.
Bring back Franz Bread Cards!
Nope. He's on a 3-year contract so no extensions allowed.
Has to be a 4 year or longer contract to do an extension.

isn't that what we did with Webster?
...and that's a good thing

Nope. Webster was on a 4-yr contract so extensions are allowed. Not for 3-yr contracts.

Webester was extended before the deadline, anyway

I believe this is just quoting Quick's speculation on how long he could be out..
I am just hoping he makes it back this season, 6-8 weeks seems pretty optimistic…
RUDY > MJ
On the plus side
We don’t have to worry about the “Trout sucks” talk til then.

That just means about $1.3 Million for sitting on the bench.

I will be shocked if Trout returns that quick.
Stress fractures can be nagging injuries as we saw last year with Marty. This is a pretty bad position for the Blazers to be in now. I think the chances of getting good value for him in a trade now are low. Probably our best chance to get the best value for him is to resign him next year for a hopefully reasonable contract.
I really wish Outlaw would have said something before the game yesterday.
It obviously was bothering him, and we can only speculate now how much less a problem it would have been for him to have this dealt with, before further injury. I also don’t believe the 6-8 weeks, and I’m not sure that any timeline should be talked about at all. Just come back when it feels good, not a second before.
I would give it all up for a billion dollars
8 weeks
is what was estimated last year for Martell to return. We know they were slightly off on that estimate.
Didn't Martell heal (mostly) and then re-injure it
I’m sure that they’d want to give him extra time to recover to avoid a repeat of that situation, but it wouldn’t be impossible to get him back in two months.

So Brandon will get even MORE minutes at the 3 spot.
Does this mean he will be known as a 3 for the All-Star game voting?
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.
