Memphis wants Thabeet to be like Greg
When's the last time a team was wishing their young big man would grow up to be like Greg? What a turnaround.

Portland guard Brandon Roy said to the Oregonian. “If we can keep him on the floor it makes us a much better team. It opens everything for all of us. So in a lot of ways, it starts with him.”

Lots of teams
will want their young centers to be like Greg.
Good luck with that.

UHHHHHH does anyone see something GLARINGLY wrong...
And you can see the similarities. Both drafted more as a defender than a scorer. Both picked on potential more than production. paragraph
Uhhh…did Geg NOT lead Ohio State to the championship….wasn’t he the MOST effective player in a game against defending champions Florida? Didn’t he average close to 16 and 9? I mean COME on….
greg didn't lead his team to the championship
they lost that game.
but yeah, greg did have way better stats than thabeet.

yes...he did...
he led them TO it…i didnt say they left with it. He just got them to the game and went for 25 points, 12 reboubds and 4 blocks against the best frontline in college…
Thabeet averaged 14 and 11.
And helped UConn to the final 4.
Pretty similar if you ask me.

best one liner i ever heard.
Sure, Thabeet could be like Greg
Except the fact that he’s physically weak, lacks athleticism, and has hand of stones. Other than that, they’re like twins.

So is that why....
They had Randolph break Thabeet’s jaw? So he too could sit out (at least part) of his (actual) rookie season? j/k
