I wonder if i have made it yet. i dont know so im going to hit the publish button to see if it works.

that's right
of course, they suggested a hard foul in part because our bench was lobbing uncontested 3s. well then contest them so it’s not so darn easy.
Plus he something to the effect of "I wouldn't wish a injury on anyone but....."
Which always translates to “I would so laugh if that dude would get injured”

Those poor folks in tonight’s game thread had to put up with “radioairbag”
Who the heck is that? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such a lack of self awareness. And on the interweb, that’s saying a lot.
Evidently he was banned from here
If I were to guess I would say it is the artist formerly known as Pippenainteasy……but….that is a just an idea I had based on his style of comment

Here's my problem
Monopolizing the sidebar is annoying, but I’ll let it go and just ignore it as long as it isn’t the whole bar. But if you think you’re a blogger, start a blog. Don’t join an established blog, not participate/comment in threads, and just use the hard work/readership base of others (Dave and Ben) to be the launching pad for your own journalistic bent. It actually is quite disrespectful, imo, because looking at that users post to comment ratio, it’s pretty clear that Aaron Sass is here to post his thoughts and isn’t looking to be engaged in the general conversation.

I see what you're saying, except one thing.
I don’t think an increase in comment participation would make me any more interested in the fanposts in question, or find them more bearable.
I agree
I can’t stand hem either (he has 3 in the main sidebar right now). But I think it goes to his intent. It would be one thing if he was an over-enthusiastic type who just kind of blurted out fanposts in between conversations. But when you have over 2x as many posts as you do comments, it’s pretty clear you are not here to do anything other than post your thoughts/opinions. We have two people who have that job, they kind of run the blog, lol. Sass wants a blog, and he wants an audience – but it shouldn’t be on this blog. Start your own, it’s not exactly rocket science. And quit annoying people here in the process.

I’m glad Mark Jackson has been bumped down to the C/D team by having to work with Dave Pasch tonight and Dan Shulman on Friday. Quite frankly, though, I’d gladly toss Jackson out to the curb for, oh, Doris Burke of all people—or even a complete bum myself!

okay hear me out. I have a facebook page, and what I do like is how I've been able to get in touch with lots of people I've met, or lost touch with all over the place.
What I hate is how people seem to post whatever is going on for them at the time, no matter what— even if that includes very personal things, thinly veiled personal attacks, things that other people would not want them to talk about, and things that they may later regret posting.
It seems to me that if I had everyone that I knew in the same space together, and I was going to say something, I would be less likely to say things that are both extremely personal, and things that would not appeal to a large group. I would not simply say how my back hurts, or I’m having trouble with my girlfriend, or other friends. I wouldn’t talk about things that would not be acceptable in mixed company, or things I wouldn’t tell my family.
Why is it that some people feel so compelled to write down all this crap about their lives and irreversibly share it with the world? Is this not just an example of how individually entitled we feel ourselves to be? How many notices to you get that seem to be fishing for sympathy, or are passive aggressive.
I haven’t posted anything on it in about a month, except to thank my dad for being a veteran today.
It’s just something that’s been bugging me.

see this is what I'm talking about. I have witnessed several fights that started with comments online, that weren't necessarily directed at anyone
manifest themselves in reality. I’ve seen near strangers get in screaming matches because one person has a different idea of the facebook decorum that should be followed.
I have a few friends that I would trust with my personal feelings, so how come people feel like it’s okay to share it with 1000 people who they know to varying degrees?

You know what I don't get, is should we say "Happy Veterans Day", ?
I mean I get the honoring of service to the country, but I’m so much happier that my dad came home, than I am proud that he went and fought in a war that he didn’t volunteer for.
I don’t know it always seemed like a mixed message to me to say “Happy” for what is much more a day of either reflection, or forgiving and forgetting.

I think veterans should be the only people to get the day off
My grandpa was a veteran during WW2. He was shot 4 times and got a purple heart. After he passed away my grandma gave me his purple heart. I have incredible respect for everyone that has served and everyone in the future that will serve. They are the true heroes in our world.

in Dave’s post-game thread rather than put up a redundant fan post.
I, however, am staying out of the muck, as this is technically Dave and Ben’s business.
To me, the JD lifers — which I don’t consider myself to be a part of for a few reasons — should try to use the same tact.

Yeah, e-mailing Dave is the best course of action.
Quite honestly, though, I’m surprised that it’s been allowed to keep going on this long by Dave.
My hope now is that it’ll be squashed sooner rather than later, which is for the good of everyone — even that Aaron Sass guy — so let’s hope for a smooth cleanup of this mess.

I'm not sure if this is a case of elitism, for ...
to me it seems like a misunderstanding by him of the Blazeredge format.
Whatever spite the JD community may show him with their barrage of mordant comments won’t do any good or bad, because it’ll take the smooth guidance of site a adminstrator to set him straight on the right path.
Basically, it’s up to Dave or Ben at this point to lay the groundwork with him about how to ease himself into Blazeredge. Currently, him flooding the sidebar with superfluous game recaps is just causing friction.
Dear Paul Allen:
Fire Nate McMillan & hire Jeff Van Gundy.

You're right
In response to your question, I think he got flagged to high heaven and Ben said something. Of course my intro to BE wasn’t much smoother than this – I joined early, didn’t post for a few months because I was in grad school and crazy busy, posted 3 or 4 Hinrich trade ideas, and as11osu nearly came through my screen and attached himself to my throat like a rabid badger. Hopefully he’ll be back, with a better idea of how the site works.

Having a very popular open mike night down at the night club, lots of good local players and its been cooking so more and and more players start showing up and pretty soon the clash of ego’s and mike time starts to be a problem because some people are driven to be the star of the show,I have seen more than one jam night die from it being a free for all where the folks who started it and are secure with who they are get crowded out by the insecure people who are desperate to prove some thing, lets not let it come to that.

She's hanging in there. She's staring at me on the bed as I type, in fact.
They helped her feel better after she had a really bad weekend. But beyond that, we didn’t actually get much good news Monday. :( She’s probably headed in for more testing next week, but we’re not expecting any good results.
(Thanks for checking in!)
We thought she had a seizure this weekend (which would have been a first)
Turned out she had a fainting spell after going for a walk and climbing a few steps, because her heart wasn’t pumping as strongly. Good strong heartbeat, but not pumping as much blood as it should, which is a recent development. There’s medication for that, and after two days of it, she perked up a bit today. She also had (apparently benign) fluid in her abdomen that needed to be removed, which isn’t good.
The problem is that in the bigger picture, it looks like it’s all related to trouble with her liver. They’re going to investigate it, but it sounds likely that there’s little they’ll be able to do.
She’s not a youngster anymore, and we get that, but my wife’s still heartbroken. She’s been with the dog longer than she’s been with me. I totally understand too, our dog just converts everyone she meets within seconds. She dealt with a new vet to investigate the fainting, and our dog smiled at the vet, who immediately melted. The whole neighborhood got to know her this past year, and are all miserable today after hearing the news.
As my wife explained, “It doesn’t matter how long you have them, you always want a little more time.”
:( hugs to you, your wife, and your dog...

Is the kid going to be ok after jumping on him? :)

AK did you check out CanisHoopus Gameday Thread???
hahaha, there’s a banned BEdge troll that was wondering why you don’t get banned versus him…He wrote a whole paragraph on how much he hated you and that you should be banned…let me find it:
My biggest beef with Blazersedge is the moderators love affair with the idiot known as AK1984. All he does is try to incite fights with his faux intellectual BS and as soon as someone points this out they are immediatley banned. It is a site that is filled with good analysis but is run by a bunch of morons.
Blazersedge mods suck

It was such a funny read cuz he attacks Prez at the end too. As Norsk noted, Bowsie was holding down the fort…So glad Dave banned a few of the BEdgers…
As the ol' saying goes, any publicity is good publicity.

Fire Nate McMillan & hire Jeff Van Gundy.

Nah, that was more me defending ESPN's broadcasting team on the whole.
For what it’s worth, I find Hubie Brown to be a better analyst than Jeff Van Gundy.

Wow, that was a fun recap
Thanks for the link, I would have missed it.
Sportscenter’s highlight package focused on Greg’s performance, and showed the already-famous fast break. Greg got a lot of love from ESPN tonight.
Wait, here comes the SC Top 10, let’s see if Greg is mentioned… nope! It was all east coast teams, mainly Detroit.
There was a monster block by Maxiell tonight that’s a can’t-miss though.
Anyone watch the Suns - Hornets game?
What’s the reason behind how bad the Hornets are right now? I haven’t seen them play
it’s a few things
(1) they have three good players and the rest are players that would not be in Portland’s rotation. At all.
(2) Byron Scott is either a moron or trying to get fired. He’s giving Bobby Brown minutes. Bobby Brown is Travis Outlaw’s cousin with less BBIQ and no jump shot… oh and minus about three quarters of a foot .Devin Brown is also playing.
Devin Brown is bad at basketball.
(3) A lot of the players are tired of Byron.
Bad, bad chemistry and literally three good players. No one else on their roster is even average at this point. They are that bad.

they play Hilton Armstrong a lot of minutes. To put it in perspective, Chris Paul was a better defensive rebounder than Hilton Armstrong last year.

thanks
this is exactly the recap i was looking for.
we need this win Friday to make it a good road trip so far
If we want to beat them, it has to be in the fourth quarter. The way they are playing right now, if you win the first quarter it will go a long way toward beating them.
The team is just looking terrible right now. When Chris Paul goes out… oh my. It is bad.

I posted this in Dave's recap but I got a kick out of it when I heard it
In GO’s post game interview on the radio with Brian Wheeler
Wheels asked, "What do you think of the 3 guard lineup"
Oden, "It’s great so far and we won a few..It’s actually a 4 guard lineup…Did you see my fastbreak?" Then he goes into his GO giggles.
I know it’s just an interview but his attitude is just way better this year.
hahahahahahaha that's awesome
he ran the 2 on 1 better than Steve Blake

Man, I love him.
Both me and my mom were talking about how different he is this year. He was laughing and having fun the whole game which is awesome to see.
You’re Right-The Arkitect
Did you see after the timeout when he was standing at the free throw line
reenacting his shot?
You’re Right-The Arkitect
I missed it too.
I may be replaying part of the game tonight still. I missed the trash talking as well.
Yeah apparently Greg was mocking someone
I completely missed it, but they talked about it in the gameday thread.
Danggggggg.
Do you know what quarter? I’m watching the replay right now but the third is almost over.
You’re Right-The Arkitect
it was really funny. He was at the foul line yukking it up.

Sure but that applies to lots of teams.
Kobe, Garnett, LeBron, Wade, Paul (wait nevermind on that one), Roy, Howard.
Can’t single out the Suns with the “an injury would derail their season” comment.
the difference between calling the Suns out on that and most other teams
(save the Spurs and Celtics) is that key Suns players are quite old. Nash and Hill are very vulnerable to decline.
You won.
by Roybot on Nov 11, 2009 1:41 AM PST
Yeah age is definitely a concern (as Magnum also noted)
I’m really just thinking out loud though. Nash seems to be in a fountain-of-youth mode right now, and seems to take good care of himself. Lots of NBA teams have their systems dependent on their star player. I mean, Kobe’s young in age, but old in NBA mileage. Nash is aging, but if he’s dishing 20 assists now, I’d be surprised if his decline happens live during the season.
As Magnum noted though, adding in someone like Hill, who’s also aging and previously injury-prone, increases the chances of a Phoenix decline this year.
I didn’t add the Spurs to my list… Pops will need to be a miracle-worker this season.
one thing Nash has going for him is that
he trained playing soccer over the summer…the different type of exercise should surely help him esp his legs
plus phoenix training staff.

I don't see why they can't win a series if they get a good seed and the right matchup
They won’t win it all, certainly, but they can advance.

I'm not as confident about our bet anymore after what 'Cuse did to Robert Morris-- who is coached by Mike Rice, Jr. and was in the tournament last year.
you shouldn't be...
the loss of flynn is only going to slightly slow us down.. we’ll be legit this year.. and will be serious over the next couple of years..
but what i haven’t noticed yet is just how is cornell doing these days? :)

Cornell opens the season @ Alabama on Saturday
Should be an interesting opener. I don’t know how good Alabama is supposed to be this year, but its an SEC game on the road, so it’ll definitely be a tough one.
wow..have to give your blue a lot of credit..
that’s a very legit way to start the season… I think Alabama is likely in the bottom half of the SEC this season.. but on the road that is still a tough game..

I google high-low zone offense a lot and look at plays for that… but mainly set recognition fpr me is just from watching a lot of NBA games and listening to various analysts. Watching New Orleans games to understand motion offense, the Lakers to understand the triangle, Portland to understand high-low zone, etc.
The fanpost over the summer breaking down the Xs and Os was also fantastic for general high-low zone plays.

we also ran a really, really complicated set late in the game. looks like a flex play with about three big moving parts… Andre curls around, receives ball and pick from Martell, runs right of key to get pick from Travis, has a bunch of options coming off of the pick. I love offense with movement.
I also love watching games on replay. So hard to really study them live.

Here's a couple questions
Rice and MB always talk about not wanting to mess with Blake or joel cause they box/mma in the offseason… I’m sure other teams have players that do this too… do you think it get mentioned everytime to guys go toe to toe on the court by their announcers? why don’t Rice and MB point those people out to us? Is it only white American Players who box or do MMA in the offseason as the Blazers small sample size indicates?
I was listening without sound - Dougall5505
it's a white thing
if i get in a rumble, my white friends would always tell the guys i’m barking with that i’m jackie chan’s son in the flesh so don’t mess with me
My poll is so awesome cause it came true
all the people that voted no are wrong :)
