Just thought I'd make another drawer for all of the people running windows 3.0 on a 486sx. So put down your floppy's and get to junking, (Yes I'm looking at you S.O.), you're welcome. The Blazer's are probably driving everyone crazy in the game threads, I'm staying out of it. What is the deal tonight? Why has Oden only played 4 minutes in the first half, even though he only has two fouls? Is Nate second guessing his 3 guard rotation? Will the Grizzlies ever be good? Will they ever sell out their arena? Is this enough words to qualify? Why was there so much insanity around Portland today, school's on fire, shooting in strip malls, and mangled pedestrian effigies?

at some point he’s gonna have to see what the refs do when Oden plays with 3 fouls in the first half. cause that tells you what they’ll when he has 5 in the 4th.

the best way to deal with that is to let Greg play with his fouls, he will learn not to foul, and the refs will learn how he plays the game.

I have heard too many times how the refs adjust their officiating to different players physical playing, to not think that eventually they will let him play more physical.

catfish.

a little olive oil on top. then some thyme, mrs dash, and lemon wedges. baked it for about 15 minutes. it’s goooooood.

eating it with some pasta.

cod, halibut, salmon, crab(!), shrimp, scallops, swordfish, calimari. it’s all fantastic.

let me tell you one of the great pleasures of life.

you get a crab or two, whole, in the shell. boil it. then spend about an hour or two with those crabs, a shell cracker, and some beer.

when you’re of age, that is.

Fresh salmon (and I mean fresh as in pulled out of the river the day before) with salt and pepper broiled for 10-15 minutes.

All those fancy sauces when it comes to salmon aren't needed if the salmon is fresh

But I am a total salmon snob. It used to be that I would only eat salmon from Alaska. Now I will only eat salmon if I know who caught it.

That may be true,

but it the super fresh stuff is sooo much better than the allegedly fresh salmon that you get in say March that I don’t want to sully the memories.

Plus living in Alaska I have to hate farmed fish and be distrustful of commerical fishermen.

when I was in maine in september, I ate about 8 lobsters at a wedding,

Crab and Lobster have a sweet flavor, with very little fishy taste at all. However, they are texturally different than other types of fish, and for non-fish eaters this could cause an adverse reaction…

every time i've had lobster

i’ve found it pretty bland. Crab isn’t like that. but yeah, different texture than fish for sure. you ever had swordfish? it’s almost like steak: pretty tough for fish. totally different texture than other fish, it’s more along the lines of lobster actually.

yeah swordfish is good, I love tuna, and mahi mahi is the bomb too. I pretty much like all kinds of fish

but I haven’t had the really exotic stuff like sea urchin, or sea cucumber, jellyfish…

i haven't had some of that stuff either.

i’m thinking about visiting a friend of mine in Chile some time and maybe i’ll try some of that stuff down there. The seafood down there is supposed to be amazing.

Uni is awesome

Sea cucumber is gross. No taste at all and it’s like eating flavorless gelatin. I don’t know where you’d get jellyfish and I don’t think I’d try that. Unagi is really good too.

yeah. i saw a lot of replays.

it was too hard to tell. they called it good on the court and i didn’t see anything conclusive enough to overturn that. the NBA certainly won’t rule against the officials though.

so there was going to be a memorial at 80th and foster today for the girl who got hit and killed by a car there last week.

Some people painted a cutout of a person white, and put her name on it. It was tied to a post this morning when I was on my way to work. By 11 o’clock this morning, somebody had smashed it to pieces.

When I was a kid, I got into lots of stuff, in other words I was not foreign to tomfoolery. But I gotta say this Zachin’ tears it!

Someone here drunk drove into a telephone pole and killed the folks in the car. A few days later, they were having a memorial at the telephone pole and a drunk woman crashed into the folks at the memorial.

don't tell me, I still haven't seen it. But yeah, I'm sure a lot is about editing

but also there was a ton of crazy crap that happened in the last ten years. Maybe no more than in previous decades, except we were part of an especially nasty series of events that was a lot closer to us personally, as americans, than had happened to us before.

I grew up in a time when there was always the ever-present specter of war. However we never did have that war with the commies. It always seemed like war was something that happened really far away, and to someone else. It’s terribly sad, but incredibly sobering the events that have defined such a large aspect of the last ten years of our collective existence. We learned that bad things can happen on a large scale, right here, to us and we are not as in control as we would like to think. There were lots of good things, but on the whole I think the last ten years blew pretty hard.

His per tonight was awful and if you extrapolate his stats to reflect 48 minutes, he would be averaging 0 point, 0 assists, 16 turnovers, and 24 fouls per 48 minutes. Sure, the sample size is small, but look at those numbers! He should never play basketball again…

what is the best way to reduce Oden’s fouls early??? (Other than him obviously not getting baited to foul)

1. If we are playing against a good offensive Center…double team early?
2. Zone
3. Front
4. Sag off the passer

Just trying to see if we can put him in a better position to not get fouls…Marc is not an easy opponent to guard one on one.
