The Start Miller Campaign...

Someone needs to hear the cries of the intellectual fans of Portland. I suggest we make "START MILLER" signs to hold up at the home games, or away games even. Make t-shirts, bumper stickers, chant it from the top of the RG to the courtside seats let yourselves be heard. Miller playing with all of our stars as soon as possible is in the best interest of our team, our city and our patient, patient, patient fans.

I am making my sign now...

To start Rudy and Roy.
Bring Blake and Andre off the bench to pass to each other.
Rudy and Roy together… pure magic sauce.

Yeah!

I’m tired of being patient. I feel like I’ve been nothing but patient for the last 8 years. I know it’s early and Nate is experimenting and whatnot, but…I don’t know…it just seems to me that the OBVIOUS right call is to start Miller. Also, why does Greg looks so scared every time he touches the ball?

I love my Comcast!

The "intellectual fans of Portland"

don’t cry, or act impatient, nor do they want those who do speaking for them.

I'm all for starting Miller

It may be a little rough at first but the sooner he gets a rythym with Roy, Aldridge, Oden, etc. the better our season will progress. It’s just clear that he plays at a higher level than Blake at the point guard spot. Maybe Blake would relax coming off the bench and get back on track as a good rotation player.

Aint nothin to it!

Neither Miller nor Blake are playing well.

Blake started to get on track last night with 6 assists and the team played better with him in the game than with Miller in the game, but Blake still had 3 turnovers and is still shooting uncharacteristically poor. Miller plays better individually taking the ball to the hoop, but he hasn’t made the team play better. He’s taken poor outside shots, but thankfully no more 3’s last night.

Miller hasn’t started but he played the end of the game last night during the decisive Houston 4th quarter run. The Blazers were down only 2 with just over 5 minutes to play and in the next 3 minutes Brooks scored on a 3-pt shot and 2-pt shot while Miller missed an open 18 foot shot and committed an obvious offensive foul. At the end of those 3 minutes Houston led by 11 and the game was essentially over. Was it entirely Millers fault? No, but him playing at the end didn’t help.

Before the season I wanted Blake to start

When BE had the topic on their main page with the vote on who you’d want as your 3 other starters I said Blake, but that I’d probably change my mind since I hadn’t seen any preseason games. My main reason was that Blake played well with Roy, but also that I wanted a playmaker with the 2nd unit. Outlaw can only create a shot for himself but not for others and Rudy can play off the ball really well and pass, but can’t dribble into the paint and draw defenders. So far this year I’ve been pretty impressed with Rudy’s ballhandling and feel comfortable enough with it. If Miller can play with Roy then I’m all for starting him, but so far it looks like he’s at this best posting up smaller guards and having the ball in his hands. Blake’s game goes perfectly with Roy, he just isn’t shooting very well to start the season. I just don’t want the reason we replace Blake to be because he isn’t hitting his shots when Miller can’t shoot.

Your confusing thesis has captured my attention. Tell me more.

Impatients

Blake just had his first really outstanding quarter again OKC looking very much up to the job. Refreshing. Blazer’s out to a big lead playing up tempo with urgency, lot’s of good use of and play by Oden and LMA under the basket, Blake at the 1. How refreshing. Second quarter they are slipping back into the old ways. First the refs continue the harass Portland campaign with phantom fouls, the defense lets up, Travis is in and aside from one rebound has missed his shots and done amazing fly by shot at defense on an open 3 pointer; man held his ground and was totally open unopposed as soon as jet TO went by. Sorry I like the man but he drives me nuts most of the time. Meanwhile, Andre has done little or nothing. I am coming to the view of let Nate do his job with our best wishes and if we are under 54 at the end likely there will be a case for his scalp
