Second half comments and play-by-play go here. Sounds like it was an ugly 24 minutes for the Blazers.
Meanwhile, there's a bomb scare going on at the Rose Garden. Scary stuff.
Police dispatchers said the Rose Garden Arena was evacuated Friday while the Explosives Disposal Unit investigated a suspicious device in a restroom....
A "Women Of Faith" conference was being held at the arena. Event promoters said 12,000 women were expected
to gather for the conference, which runs through Saturday.Conference participants were evacuated and police are shutting down the arena.

hate to continue to be grumpy griper,
but I think that has more to do with the fact that the clips scored nearly 1/3 of their points on the break. Prolly more difficult for a big like Oden to foul in transition. But yea he’s playing well.

every clipper is shooting 50% or better
I guess that is what happens when almost every shot is a layup or dunk. 62+% for the half for the clippers, even in preseason Nate has to be peeling some paint at halftime.

Miller 11 pts, 3 assists, 3 TO’s in 25 minutes
Blake 3 pts, 2 assists, 4 TO’s in 17 minutes
but Roy gets no rhythm and ends up 2 for 7 shots, 4 TO’s in 22 minutes playing mostly with Miller. Can Roy find chemistry with Miller by Oct 27?

As much as I like Andre Miller and what he'll do for Greg Oden, Kirk Hinrich would've nevertheless ...
been the better backcourt fit alongside Brandon Roy both offensively and defensively. With Roy, it’s nice to have a guy who can both run the point and play off the ball as an efficient spot-up shooter from downtown.

they did want Bayless according to the rumors, that was the dealbreaker according to reports...they'd want him...
because he fits perfectly in with the “Rose Dynasty Window” as a backup PG and even a SG since Rose can guard bigger SG, or at least a backup to both positions…dude has some potential/athleticism

Jerryd Bayless would've been seen as a long-term replacement for Ben Gordon.
In the meantime, the Chicago Bulls went out and signed Jannero Pargo for that role.

seems Rudy could also be a great long term replacement...Pargo's a point guard, Salmons turning 30 this year...
seems Rudy’s lights out shooting would be a perfect complement for Rose in the backcourt…and I’d rather keep Bayless than Rudy, 3 years time, I think he’s the better player

If the Chicago Bulls front office feels that it's got a puncher's chance at ...
swaying hometown hero Dwyane Wade to sign with the organization as an unrestricted free-agent in the summer of 2010, then perhaps Kirk Hinrich is moved come mid-season. Yet, if the Bulls are looking good and in the thick of getting a #5 or #6 seed in the Eastern Conference, it’s doubtful that Jerry Reinsdorf will sign off on dumping salary.

I've thought the same thing...
as fans we don’t have knowledge of those “inside conversations” regarding guys like Wade, but agreed, if Jerry feels there’s any chance for Wade, a Rudy/Blake/Outlaw package stills a fair deal…
…I want Jerryd for the future…and since Wade can play/defend the point (another reason, and I don’t mean to be stoke anybody’s fires, but his “D” is another reason he’s better than Roy), it still seems that the Bulls…
…would have to be thrilled with getting Rudy out of that deal…bc he could still get some significant minutes with Rose & Wade as his backcourt mates…
…Wade & Rose can both “play/guard” the pg position nicely

I believe it'd've taken Steve Blake, Travis Outlaw, and Jerryd Bayless to get Kirk Hinrich.
Yet, at this point in time, Hinrich isn’t in the cards. Portland must go with Andre Miller, while focusing more on upgrading its hole at the backup 4 spot.

I'd contend Rudy Fernandez is too much for Kirk Hinrich, although Hinrich could play ...
next to either Brandon Roy or Andre Miller without much challenge. Regarding Fernandez, I don’t think playing time will become a glaring issue with him until 2011. Meanwhile, Travis Outlaw’s trade value is quickly ticking away with time and Jerryd Bayless may not possess the patience to be a fifth guard who receives little playing time on a stacked team.

sigh...I agree with you on the Kirk is the best fit for this team...I just worry we're not going to max out Rudy's potential in a trade, bc in my mind, he'll never fit here, nothing against his skills
…but I wouldn’t mind giving up Rudy at this point (again, I am drinking Scotch), for Hinrich, bc seriously, that cracks the window open further this year, and the next 3 years as well

For as much crap as I fling at Kevin Pritchard, my gut tells me deep down ...
that Paul Allen was the driving force behind the organization’s flirtation of Hedo Turkoglu. Pritchard, however, didn’t have the cojones to place his boss back on the right track, which shows timidity and weakness on his part.
