Adam Morrison's NBA career on the line?
This is the fourth year Adam Morrison has been in the NBA and it's looming as the biggest of his career. He's set to make $5.2 million this season in the final year of his rookie contract. He has struggled with injuries and inconsistency since being drafted by the Charlotte Bobcats with the third pick in the 2006 NBA draft. Unfortunately he's on a loaded Lakers team that has him as the third-string small forward behind Ron Artest and Luke Walton."It's definitely a big year for me personally, as far as contract years always are," Morrison told the Los Angeles Times. "It's going to be tough minutes to find on this team, obviously, with such talent that we have. Hopefully I can find a way in."
"I'm sure they'll give me a chance," Morrison said. "If they don't, there'll obviously be some reason I didn't do what I needed to do."

It's times
likes this that I am glad the fans aren’t GM’s. Remember how rabid the fanbase was here for us to draft the stache?
Instead we got one guy named Brandon Roy, and another named Lamarcus Aldridge. How has that worked out?

My Gonzaga alum goggles got in the way when I wanted Adam before the 2006 draft. I’m definitely happy we got Roy.
But I also think Morrison has been a little unlucky. But obviously Roy is 30 times better as a franchise player.
Although, if anything it would have been Morrison instead of LaMarcus right? So that’s the real comparison. Either way, we made out like bandits in that less than stellar draft.

i never understood the facination with morrison
in college he was unathletic and couldn’t play defense,
all he could do was shoot, now granted, he did that pretty well in college, but I can’t understand using a top 5 pick on a guy that one dimensional
bayless leaves over my dead body

his stache made him at least 3 dimensional...
"There are a few teams you have to watch out for in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, but Portland definitely is not one of them."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters at the end of the third quarter with the Hornets leading 74-59. Portland later ends up winning 97-89.
"They don't mind him shooting that shot at all. Rudy Fernandez is not that great of a 3pt shooter."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters right after a Rudy Fernandez missed 3pter. Rudy Fernandez finished the game with three 3pters on six attempts.

But he still put up HUGE numbers against out of conference power houses. He was a legit college scoring machine but the rest of his game didn’t translate to the NBA.

Summer League
He looked good at times this summer. I think they’ll give him a shot to prove himself in their preseason games. That’s his best bet.
