Does Brandon look rusty, Ben?

Or is he just going through the motions?

I am still mildly to moderately concerned that he may not have touched a basketball all summer.

Q: Is Greg favoring his knee?

Question of the day: salty snacks or sweet snacks?

The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

He gets the ball on the right side of the court. He beats his man by dribbling left into the key just inside the free throw line. He picks up his dribble and transfers the ball to his left hand looking to shoot. He goes up for what looks like a finger roll from 14 feet, he shoots the finger roll, the ball goes directly backwards over his own head, although he doesn’t react at all like it slipped, and winds up in a defender’s lap before hitting the floor.

I just don’t see why he can’t turn into “Blake, 1.5 Version,” relatively quickly…

by two4larue on Oct 6, 2009 10:11 PM PDT up reply actions

Sign Blake for 5 years, the tandem will still be broken up in 2 years...

as Andre Miller will be 34 by the time the playoffs start this year, and 35 by the time they start next year, the year after that…he will be rotting fruit…

And its nothing against Blake, Celtics, Cavs, ect. would all love to have him, its more about the upside I am hoping Bayless has, with his
   a.) work ethic
   b.) physical attributes…

It is hardly a stretch to think that he could develop into a much greater asset for us than Blake currently is…as much as I like Blake, I’d trade the majority of starting PG’s in the league for him right not.

by irish3 on Oct 6, 2009 10:30 PM PDT up reply actions

pass-first PG

that’s just not Jerryd. I still think Bayless could eventually play “off” of Brandon, but Roy seems to like having a PG like Blake alongside him, and that’s the main reason why I don’t see Steve going anywhere. The more that fans see of Andre and Steve this year, the more Rex will fade into the background. Unless there’s an injury, then Nate can break the glass and “release the beast”

three on offensive fouls, frustrating calls.

By that I'm assuming Wheels thought they were fustrating

which could mean they were bad calls or great calls that our homer broadcasters saw as bad calls.

That’s a bit of a damper on things— he’s got to learn to avoid those. Still encouraging overall.

It was Ben's opinion saying they were frustrating

Most of us out of towners couldn’t even listen to most of it.

Yeah-- 3 really nice looking offensive plays from him

and you have to love him drawing fouls and converting the FTs. Encouraging.

Oooooooh yeah baby. He looked hungry, decisive, confident, and most importantly like he was having fun.

I’m not ready to count on him yet; the Sacramento frontline was not intimidating. But this one game is encouraging.

The defensive play was the best one

because of how he handled a quick guy on the perimeter before the block.

if Martell plays big minutes at the expense of Rudy and Nic, I'm going to be upset

Not saying this game shows that will be the case, just saying I really hope it isn’t the case.

agreed, but I think Nic will get his time.

Just means we are winning more games that way

If the players are asked to buy into the team results maybe the fans too?

I love all three players and they will each have opportunity to win games this year.

Was at the game tonight. Was fun watching our guys suck it up for a while, shake off the rust, and remember how to play ball.

One thing stuck out in my mind more than anything…anyone who thinks Blake should get more minutes than Andre Miller is crazy, ill-informed, or too Blake sympathetic. I cant remember the last we had a point guard that strikes fear in the heart of a defense and has to be respected.

I don’t care who starts, but Dre better be in there for crunch-time and get the bulk of the minutes. He is a better passer, penetrator, defender, and orchestrator. The ONE thing Blake has over him is shooting ( I guess two things, the second being familiarity, but that’s a moot point already, seeing that Dre outplayed him already after a WEEK AND A HALF OF PRACTICE with this squad ). Miller is a straight up baller, and is going to make the haters warm up to him REAL quick.

Appreciate the read

We will need both players all year. Steve may not have had it tonight but everyone has those nights. Roy must not have looked too great tonight either?

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
