Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

Nba.com asked the GMs 60 questions about the upcoming season predicting team performance, individual awards, etc. Last year they were right in some regards and wrong in others (that answer is always at the bottom of the respective ranking).

Blazers aren't represented everywhere but do get some love/respect: E.g. they are predicted to win the NW division, get co-third place in "home court advantage" with the Lakers, and Rudy wins "Which international player is most likely to have a breakout season in 2009-10?". Brandon, LaMarcus, Nicolas, Nate get mentions as "also getting votes" in some categories.

General managers were not permitted to vote for their own team or personnel.

hmmm

I think Batum might be more likely based on what i’m hearing, but i need to actually watch a game to decide for myself here.

"Fernandez, to my eyes, is the Blazer who walks that walk most comfortably. A lot of Portland's fans (egged on, dare I say, by their local broadcasters) lament things like how Ron Artest or Yao Ming get to hit Brandon Roy's arms.

But I suspect Fernandez sees all that and thinks: We get to hit arms! Cool!"

"There are a few teams you have to watch out for in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, but Portland definitely is not one of them."

-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters at the end of the third quarter with the Hornets leading 74-59. Portland later ends up winning 97-89.

"They don't mind him shooting that shot at all. Rudy Fernandez is not that great of a 3pt shooter."

-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters right after a Rudy Fernandez missed 3pter. Rudy Fernandez finished the game with three 3pters on six attempts.

and i don't get how mcmillan wasn't even considered for one of the best head coaches in a close game

with less than 2 minutes left…

weren’t we one of the deadliest team in that category?

Is that Nate?

Or is that Travis & Roy?

Not trying to knock on Nate, I’m just asking whether you think either of those guys need much coaching to take on impossible odds under stress.
