ok.... WHEW!
There’s Roy. 2-3 on 3s, and 3-3 on freethrows. 9 for him and 10 for Aldridge in the 1st quarter? I like that very much.
Now, let’s get Ariza T’d up and out.

One of the better netbooks on the market too. I hate Flash, I can’t wait until they add video acceleration.

The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

Oden
All summer I heard how much oden was progressing, same thing I heard and believed last year. I see improvement on the defensive end but thats about it. He still has foul trouble and hardly any offense.
by the glide on Oct 31, 2009 6:23 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
he would scre at least 10 a game on garbage buckets if he could stay on the floor
and his offense woudln’t seem like much of a problem

He's specifically not being the focus of offense
The team has been very clear about that.

It would be the height of folly to extend Oden the way they extended LMA.

I have to imagine Bayless isn't getting on the court for a reason
I’d personally prefer Miller stating, Blake backup and Rudy getting spot minutes (Roy gets some PG in the 4th).
I don’t think it’s coincidental that Oden’s offense dropped when he no longer was in the same unit as Miller. They’re no longer in sync when they are on the court either.

Greg's defense is improved. That's great.
The fact that he can’t take advantage of David freaking Anderson and instead commits an O-foul is very, very disappointing.
Trevor Ariza still the most overrated offseason acquisition, Dave?
Our perimeter D has been a joke. I think Houston will cool down, but can we get a hand up and at least pretend to challenge shots? Please?
What’s up with Roy’s ball handling? Usually its one of his biggest strengths but he is struggling. Good thing he was on fire from deep.
LMA showed up on offense with some really nice moves. His defense is still a joke though.
Houston’s a good team, but I want to see a lot more from the Blazers.

I see that ESPN is just wrong
NBA.com says 8 for both of them.
by DC Blazer on Oct 31, 2009 6:45 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
no, that's wrong
Oden’s played 9 minutes. Still a huge disappointment that he hasn’t improved in the foul department. His defense is improved, but not his offense or his fouls. Huge bummer.
by jksnake99 on Oct 31, 2009 6:45 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
In fairness
His 3rd foul was a terrible call….
by Rudiculous on Oct 31, 2009 6:46 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
eh, Oden got the elbow up on Anderson. Tough call, but not a terrible one.
by jksnake99 on Oct 31, 2009 6:46 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
posh
Oden’s third foul was what Barrett called a reputation call… they didn’t show the replay which always makes me suspicious

so
I believe Barrett and Rice… there’s contact on every play… just because David Anderson is a total shmuck doesn’t mean he should get the benefit of the home court whistle
World's phoniest apology-- "I'm sorry."
by bow4meow on Oct 31, 2009 6:52 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
look, it was a tough call-- not a ton of cotact, but Oden's elbow made contact with Anderson's face
Oden has to not do that.

that last call on greg was ridiculous
he’s bringing good shotblocking and rebounding to the table. It’s early and several starters have played badly so far, you seem to be looking for the worst in the team since the other night. Just sayin’

but Ariza was the better fit there and also will be the better player over the length of those contracts.

is that Nate wears a Blazers uniform under his suit and, in some future moment of pique, will strip off the suit and just come out and do the job himself.

It is nice that we can say that Oden appears to make us a better club when he is on the floor (as opposed to last year when we were often better with Joel)
I just wish that was the case for more than 20 mpg.

I'm frustrated about that too, but feel comfortable that it should improve in time
I just hope it doesn’t create a huge conflict for his contract extension.
