exactly.
you’d have to be plugged in to watch the game, and on a solid connection (edge and 3g switching would cause hiccups i imagine like it does for Ustream or other video streaming progs)
but 40 is not a bad deal if you are in a house where u cant get the TV for blazer games.

or when power goes out
like it did for me last night.
I may buy this. thanks for the note.
"Fernandez, to my eyes, is the Blazer who walks that walk most comfortably. A lot of Portland's fans (egged on, dare I say, by their local broadcasters) lament things like how Ron Artest or Yao Ming get to hit Brandon Roy's arms.
But I suspect Fernandez sees all that and thinks: We get to hit arms! Cool!"

any way...
to get this for your android phone and watch Blazer games even if you are in Portland? We don’t have cable, but if I could get NBA (Blazers included) games on my g1 I’d be stoked. Spending alot at the bars every other night :)
its for droid too
if theres no credentials u can root your phone and get it for free ;)

I don't think that will help with blackout
Disclaimer: everything I know about basketball I learned on Blazersedge.
I am not quite sure how they would do that
black out by IP?

That's what they do.
Go to someplace like this. If it can tell that you are in Portland, you’re no good.

Probably no way around the blackout when using this
Better luck on a computer where you can do more fancy hacking easier.
I have the same problem of living in Portland with no cable TV. I’m looking for good solutions. Luckily the way my office is wired up, the NBA thinks it’s in Colorado, so I should be able to watch at work at least. Gonna see if I can watch from home via my work VPN, or maybe set up a proxy or ssh tunnel to my office PC.

It uses GPS to determine blackout area.
Perfect if you want it to watch games on the road, bad if you want to watch them in the NW.

very nice
There may be a way to do that with an android device, but we’ll have to see how it’s determining the area.
Blackout questions
I’m trying to make sense of the blackout situation, since I’m in SEA with no cable. Good news is Kong is gonna pick up the games that are on KGW. Now if we could just get a local radio affiliate ….
Anyway, does anyone know if there are any games NOT subject to blackout? Or is every single game going to be blacked out, since it looks like every game is broadcast these days?
I would check the league pass broadband free trial.
You can tell which games will be blocked out. If it says “upcoming” under a game then you can probably watch it. Other games say e.g. “Watch on KGW” or “Blackout” which means you can’t. Also see if you can watch the first Houston/Portland game in the archives. If you can watch that one, you should be able to watch future ones too.

The MLP iPhone App
used the GPS in the iPhone to determine if you were in restricted areas. The quality, even on 3G, was pretty good though. I watched the last few innings of Game 2 of Sox/Angels ALDS in the parking lot of the Jantzen Beach Home Depot.
So, if the NBA is near the quality and you’re out of the area, its not a bad deal.
Wondering what moves Pritchard would make to land me a date in the off-season. Preferably one with tickets.
