I've always felt that a Center with 5 fouls is useless as a defender, because they no longer contest shots, which is what the position is all about...
So conserving Oden for the last 6 minutes is fine.

Why is Ray Romano on TNT?
Doesn’t he have about 100 mil in the bank
Q: Is Greg favoring his knee?
Frye: He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors.
You’re confused. he asked why ray romano was on TNT, not laurence olivier.

Eh. I really don't like Ray Romano
But I get why he’d still want to be in the game. It’s what he enjoys doing, and there’s a demand for him.
It’s not demand from me, but it’s there somewhere. Unless the show tanks, then he knows it’s time to pack it up.
But not on a TNT sitcom
One of the biggest sitcom stars in history couldn’t get a network show? I guess not but it seems ridiculous
Q: Is Greg favoring his knee?

He's a bit of a one-trick pony
And he’s never really had successful movies.
I actually prefer that new Brad Garrett 7-up commercial over any episode of Romano’s show. Man, that show was awful.
Why ray romano ever had a tv show is beyond me.

"We can't really worry about foul trouble..."
And yet I’m going to sit my best big guy on the bench for the entire second half and play a 37 year old PF at center.
That interview from Nate was classic… ly stupid.
Q: Is Greg favoring his knee?
Frye: He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors.
Yeah, it didn't really make sense.
But it looked like Nate was just trying to make up stuff to drive the guy away.

Yeah, I do agree with you there.
Sometimes people will tell others what they want to hear to get rid of them.
That’s not exactly a productive way to handle an interview, though.
Dear Paul Allen:

I had a feeling this would happen heading into this season.
Nate McMillan doesn’t know how to coach pivotmen, which is why Jeff Van Gundy is my favorite coaching in waiting out there.
I like Mike Fratello, too, but that’s just a pipe dream. Besides, Van Gundy is a more apt pick-and-roll and back-to-the-basket coach — with the latter being what should indeed be Greg Oden’s forte, because he’d dominate down on the low block — as well as more likely to return to the sidelines from the booth.
Dear Paul Allen:
Waive Patty Mills & sign Ime Udoka.

Nate still playing with preseason lineups. Compensating for having so many injuries? Maybe he’s just trying to fit into the coach circles.
I'm positive he has no idea how to integrate players into his rigid system
Now he’s just winging it and seeing what works.

Rudy will have a new TV show soon
It’s called “Everybody Loves Rudy”
It’s about this European guy. Early in the episode, everyone gets angry because he’s messed up. But later in the episode, something goes well, and everyone loves him again.
It will be followed in the future by his second show, “Players of a Certain Age”. A middle ages Rudy, Sergio and Gasol will contemplate life after basketball, while everyone swoons over Rudy.
Gasol will star in an episode of CSI Miami in November. Really.

LMA needs to play his game, not the opponent. Denver is in his head. Nate’s rotations, well, there’s nothing left to be said.
GO is my guy, but he’s not blameless. He needs to hit at least one of two there. Of course, it is somewhat difficult to come in virtually cold in the 4th because you’re coach has a complex about fouls, but that isn’t changing anytime soon, so GO needs to adapt.

Its more complicated than that.
Thats a cop out. You just broke down a 48-minute slugfest into one sentence. “Denver is great, Portland isnt” doesn’t begin to describe the game that just ended.
The Lakers are a great team. Even they lost close games last year. Denver didn’t just win because they are “great” and we are just “good”.

Oh, man. You’re starting to crack me up. We gave up offensive rebounds, couldn’t buy a stop, and missed clutch freethrows. WE CHOKED THIS GAME AWAY. Will it happen again? Sure. Will we win close games? Sure. BUT DENVER STOLE THIS ONE. They were the better, more experienced, MORE CLUTCH team tonight. How you could argue otherwise is beyond me.

I’m just saying that they’re typically clutch. Yes, some Blazers choked because of some missed FTs at the end. I’m sure MANY other teams have gone through the same doom and gloom after we stole their games as well.

I’m not saying anything in the long term. I’m talking about tonight. Tonight I saw a more experienced team take a game away from a team that look lost at times in the endgame. I am simply saying, yes, this game, alone, can stand at proof, synchronically, that at this particular moment, the nuggets are farther along than the blazers.
We’ll see what’s what the next time we play the nuggets.
But for now: nugs clutch, ’zers choke.

Yeah, they got a nearly unstoppable superstar in
Melo and an in-control vet PG in Billups and a coach that doesn’t panic.

the team shot 35%, that’s what lost the game, not the ft’s at the end.

I'm with you Snake,
There’ll be no getting past this. In a season as short as 82 games you just can’t afford to lose 1. Especially when you shoot 35% from the field. You can’t let those opportunities slip through your fingers.
It wasn't the first time I'd been kicked in the cherries and called a rat by a woman, but it was the first time I didn't mind.
You can say it the other way for Denver as well
We had a HUGE rebounding advantage again. If we’re that successful on the boards, then we should be doing better.
The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

Garbage!
We are a shell of what we were at the end of the season last year. Oden is gonna need some big hugs after tonight.
This Blazer team is going nowhere until Oden can stay on the court ~32 minutes and make a layup
So far it looks like he’s no closer to being able to do those, though he’s still fantastic at rebounding.
Not until the team figures how to get him the ball going toward the hoop
Nate’s offensive system is gonna limit this team.

I tuned in tonight looking forward to my first look at the ‘09-’10 Blazers in what I though would be a very exciting matchup. Midway through the fourth quarter – after, of, the ninth or so consecutive trip to the foul line – I realized I was bored silly, in spite of the close score.
Maybe it’s just me, but seeing the pace of the beautiful, free-flowing sport I once loved gummed up by the endless deliberations of middle aged men just did not make for a very enjoyable viewing experience.

I dunno, they were shooting tons of FTs
but it’s not like we weren’t fouling them. Melo just had the look tonight, and Blake and LA were embarrassingly bad.
I dunno either
There were just so many marginal calls where the refs should have “swallowed the whistle.”
I always believe it’s best to err on the side of not interrupting the flow of play. But that’s not what I saw tonight, it seemed like every key moment down the stretch involved a referee. The sixth foul on Nene – what was that? As was the final foul that sent Oden to the line. Neither of those calls needed to be made. Along with at least a dozen others that I saw throughout the course of the contest.
I agree about the stupid sixth foul on Nene, but Kenyon Martin did hook Greg Oden.
