Chris-andersen

Reason #3 to see "Birdman" get dunked on by the Blazers.

--- I was under the impression Chris played overseas in China before sneaking his way into the NBA. But this picture proves he actually did come from the WNBA...

I don't get people who don't like Birdman

Basketball is more fun to watch if the Birdman is playing.

clearing up misconceptions

I’m not giving anyone reasons to HATE Andersen. I am giving reasons to be excited about watching the Blazers seek revenge!!! C’mon peoples what is going on?

Without birdman

This league would be quite boring. I wait with bated breath his preening maneuvers directly following one of is patented hustle plays. If this team had him he would be a fan favorite. Bank it.

As long as he isn't getting violent on the court, why would I have a problem with the guy?

Hustle defense, has fun out there, and he makes me feel happy that I am not him!
It is like hating Mutumbo for his constant finger waving.
People should be allowed to celebrate big plays.

I like to root for him to get dunked on

I appreciate his hustle and heart. I mean no disrespect to him, however there is a professional rivalry, and after his hair celebration having our bigs go after him just feels right. I don’t have to dislike a boxer to root for him to get punched in the face. So no disrespect to him. I’m glad he cleaned his life up. I hoped the blazers would be able to acquire him as one of our bench players. However he is a flashy member of the other team, and that means dunking on him is iconic. To not wish to see it, would be absurd for anyone maintaining even the smallest level connection to the blazer team.

Wow...

That’s the last Birdman post for me. I didn’t know BlazerNation was a FAN of this guy… Seriously? Look at the first 3 comments. If I didn’t know any better i’d think this was a Nuggets fan website, or better yet, a marginally talented NBA player appreciation website.

But what about reasons 2 and 1?? What are we going to do without knowing the other reasons to watch him get dunked on?? Anarchy! Anarchy!!

don't get me wrong

i love to see birdman get dunked on. but i still enjoy watching him play. i’m with HallelujahHoeDown on this one; a different uni on his back and he’d be our fan favorite.

Exactly...

It takes a Denver Stiff to explain to Portland fans why they should be excited to see Birdman get dominated by LMA and Greg. Thank you Nate!

Thanks for reminding me why I hate Chris Anderson

As billy From white men cant jump would say: The Birdman would rather look good and lose, than look bad and win. He would rather volley ball spike a ball into the 5th row, rather than direct it to a teammate and start a fast break. Same goes for Kenyon Martin, he might be even worse in fact. He would rather go up for a monster dunk and brick it rather than just make a smart play and lay it off the glass. I think Kenyon Martin is the only guy I have ever seen showboat after a dunk while his team is getting throttled by 20 plus. Bunch of shmucks if ya ask me…

The follow through on that play is Bird with the block ... Odom didn't make that shot.

Was the best block of the series and perhaps of the playoffs!

Shot blockers get dunked on.

It’s a fact of life. Seeing him get dunked on is as equally satisfying, from a general observer’s standpoint, as seeing him apply a dazzling block. You think he’s worried too much about getting dunked on when he’s averaging 4.3 blocks every 36 minutes?

Personally, im with BlazerSeem

I cant stand birdman. I like humble players like ROY! ROY kicks butt because thats what he does. He doesnt have to be “flashy”. There is a right way and a wrong way to play. Although, a little swagger never hurt any team, having some taste and style with your swagger (like the Mutumbo finger wag) never hurt either. And I think we all agree, the finger wag is way more classy than the hair preening thing birdman does.

Further thought- I also kinda like to see players I dont like, just so maybe I can see them get a taste of their own medicine. Does that make sense? Basically, I dont like Birdman, but I like seeing him play, because I might see him get schooled.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
