Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

LOCKER ROOM MATERIAL:

"I’m excited. I know by me being undersized, coaches and a lot of players, only a couple of them, feel they have an easy bucket going against me. If they try to go to Oden early or go to Aldridge for a basket, they’ve got another thing coming."

Its cute how in denial he is…I can’t wait for GO to get the last, and goofiest, laugh tonight.

I feel so sorry for Chuck Hayes right now...

Why don’t we all put our money together and buy the guy a nice frame for the Greg Oden poster he’s going to be in?

I’ll pay to have to blown up to life-size just so Chucky knows just how out of his mind he is.

Congrats on the Supporters Sheild and advancing in CCL

You should travel to Portland to watch the Timbers beat your Crew in 2011, and while you’re here maybe catch a Blazers game all in the same trip. ;-)

Congrats on the expansion team!

I’m looking forward to having a team in the west to follow! I’d love to catch a game if the Crew come to whip some Timbers!

Someone find a picture of Dr. Evil and mini-me. Paste Oden’s head over Dr. Evil and get Hayes on mini-me.

Regarding Hedo Türkoğlu:

Look at the bright side, Blazers fans -- you dodged a bullet. He peaked statistically two years ago. He's allegedly 30 but could be closer to 32 or 33 for all we know. (Do you trust Turkish birth certificates? And isn't it weird that he played four years of pro ball in Turkey in the 1990s?)

I like where your head is at…no pun intended. It would definitely give Hayes someone to look up to…again, no pun intended. Ok maybe that one was intentional.

Just don't get over-anxious Greg.

All it takes is a few nicely timed flops from Hayes and Greg goes to the bench. (Hoping those quick whistles are in Greg’s past now)

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

Good point.

I dunno as much as I think that Oden and Aldridge can dominate...

don’t forget Hayes and Scola are crafty players and have gotten the better of Portland at times last year.

Yep. You're right. But usually because they aren't a big part of the opposition's defensive plan.

Now, as starters, I don’t think they can “sneak up” on people like last year – especialy without yao’s presence as a distraction. I hope Greg and LMA read what Chuck said and are ready to bring it.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
