Uncharted territory
So, we have LMA and Roy locked up. They are our core, and frankly.....Thank freaking god!!!!!
If anyone (im sure they do) remembers our last highly paid duo (Z-bo and D-miles) they will understand that we are worlds away from where we once were. It has been said many, many times these guys are something to be proud of and it goes right to our core. Roy, what can anyone say. In his short time in the league he has become a top flight SG and one of the best Blazers ever, Allready. LMA......well he is easily on my(opinion) top five all time blazer PF list, somewhere behind Buck Williams, Mo Lucas, and Brian Grant.
We have official navagated into uncharted waters. Maybe not since Clyde, Terry, Kersey, and Duck were assembled have we had such young, and talented players that were locked up and you knew.....those were your Blazers. This team is younger than those Drexler teams if memory serves. That means, in theory, we should have a longer run than Clyde had. And as tough as this is to say, to me this team has more talent than the best Drexler teams. Please disagree with me on that, i know i probly would but it just seems that way to me.
We can now say this: "no matter who may be playing here, LMA and Roy will lead the way!" This is something that we have not had ever in our history.....Two, young, Greatly skilled, High character guys to call our own for the next 6+ years. This mean that by the time these extensions run out LMA and Roy will have played out the majority of there careers. There legacy will be built in a blazer uni.
This is truely a great day for Blazer fans all over. When you think that a mere 5 years ago this was out of the realm of possability is astounding. Now lock up Oden next year and we are set, fill in with role players, machine wash warm, tumble dry, pull it out of the dryer and what do you have? A very, very good team for the next 5-6 years. This is a good day and we have entered territory we have not seen in a long time, maybe never. Good to see the LMA saga is over, please dear god let the season start!!!!

Once we get close expect allen to

Don't know whaat else KP could do this year
So far Andre>Sergio, Howard>Frye
Bur yes there is the MLE to sign someone next year if we still need another player. This is a good year to shoot for it and develop talent at the same time.

Howard>Frye
I’m not willing to go there. They do different things well. Frye even played emergency center when Greg was out last year, and LMA stayed at the 4. Now that Collins is out of town, there’s no one to “fill in” at C if Greg or Joel are out. A front court of LMA-Howard isn’t going to defend or rebound in the paint good enough to keep the ship afloat
When reached 39 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!

If Joel and Greg are both out ...
… we’re in trouble no matter what. The difference between Frye/Aldridge and Howard/Aldridge isn’t enough to really tip the scale either way in my opinion.

The biggest difference between Howard and Frye is experience
Frye will out perform Howard with steady and plentiful minutes. Howard would out-perform Frye in limited minute stints. The Blazers needed a player for the latter situation. Frye needs big minutes to get in his groove. He was never going to get those (consistently) playing behind Lma.

Also,
Blake+ Outlaw (both expiring in the Summer of LeBron)+ 1.4 in capspace+Euro Assets = great deal making flexibility. We sort of have another RLEC that we can break into smaller chunks, great for facilitating a 3 way deal, especially since if they want, the other teams get a decent role player back.
For instance, Blake+Outlaw+Picks for Prince would work if we were 1.4 mil under the cap.
Detroit gets an actual PG to play with Stuckey and Gordon, Rip prob gets traded. Outlaw, Daye, Summers, and some minutes for CV round out Detroit’s new SF rotation. I dunno, it’s late…
