Blazer Game Streaming announcement
I don't get it. What does this achieve? 150 mile radius? CH 8 games only?

well
150 mile radius: People outside this can already get all the games online through the NBA League Pass Broadband, so the only current “need” for team streaming is for the people inside that radius. Think big picture – if the NBA allowed teams to stream outside their own radius, once the majority of teams started doing it, the NBA would have killed about 90% of their potential league pass subscriber base – after all, most fans only care enough to pay to watch their “home” team.
KGW Game Only: As stated, the Blazers are working with Comcast to make those games available online by January. I’m sure the Blazers would rather do it sooner, but it takes time, as we have all seen with Comcast thus far. So, the KGW games are better than nothing at this point, and will get the ball rolling until the full schedule is available.
it will be interesting to see the pricing model. Since I have DirecTV, I will almost assuredly subscribe once the Comcast games are certain to be in the loop and if the pricing is reasonable.
How did you guys win that?
"We scored enough points. We scored 107, they scored 105.
-Nate McMillan Postgame, 3/4/2009
great
I live in Seattle, 175 miles from Portland and last year was unable to see the Blazers on league pass because we live in the Blazer’s market.
yeah...david stern just wanted to screw with seattle.
"There are a few teams you have to watch out for in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, but Portland definitely is not one of them."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters at the end of the third quarter with the Hornets leading 74-59. Portland later ends up winning 97-89.
"They don't mind him shooting that shot at all. Rudy Fernandez is not that great of a 3pt shooter."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters right after a Rudy Fernandez missed 3pter. Rudy Fernandez finished the game with three 3pters on six attempts.

This must be a joke
Blazers dropping the ball once again.
Seattle based Blazer fans are screwed. I have to say the organization has done an incredible job of alienating non-Comcast premium subscribers. Way to expand the fanbase and limiting product exposure. This is a complete disaster.

I'm totally out of luck.
I live in Seattle. This is absolutely awful, and my worst fears are confirmed. I hope there’s a big stink about this because I can neither get league pass nor this streaming solution.
You can't get CSN?

not in HD...
You can pay a LOT of money for their Standard Definition package…. if you’re not already locked into a satellite contract.
Basically, this is a bit bleak for Seattlites who don’t want to support the evil empire of ComCrap.

This sounds like one of those
“now people can’t say we’re not trying and don’t care about our fans” PR jobs
When reached 39 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
Agreed.
This is all just lame-arse PR hoo-ha. The Blazers need to put the pressure on Comcast to make the deal with Direct TV and Dish. Now. Comcast need to step up to the plate.

Seattle Blazer Fans...
Let’s unite and complain to the team, the NBA, and Comcast as well.
If I draft a letter, how many of you would send a version of it via email to those people?
Shoot me an email if you want to help.
Thanks,
Steve
