Ben RTs: NBA reaches agreement with referee union
This is good.
ETA: Of course, the refs still have to ratify. It is expected that they will.

Thank you Jesus
I have a lot more appreciation for the real refs after Sunday’s debacle.

When reached 39 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
Yay...
…a bunch of bad refs are going to be replaced by the old refs, who are bad in a different way.
We’re never going to get any real reform with the refs to force responsibility and transparency, statistical analysis to find (often subconscious) biases, and regular testing to see who can no longer handle their duties.
[Sorry to be Debbie Downer today.]
Shoot, there's nothing to apologize about for being a negative nancy. You pointed out real concerns.
For now, though, I’m just satisfied with mediocrity over an atrocity. Yet, someday down the line, legitimate reform must take place for NBA officials to be taken seriously without us looking at them out the corner of our eye at all times.
Stupid people have stupid ideas.

Yet, someday down the line
If there had been no lockout, the calls for reform would have been now, rather than someday down the line. After the bad taste of replacement refs, any lingering concerns after the Donaghy affair, can be swept under the carpet. Some of our Presidents also have been effective at this art of “remember it could be worse” instead of trying to make it better.
