5:11 to a championship
Did you miss the train that left the RG last night?
Espn missed it. Nba.com missed it. IF you left the RG before 7:38 to go in the 4th qtr you missed it too. Thats ok I wouldn't blame you. I didn't see what was coming either ....who could have.
Just a mere 1:22 prior Greg Oden had just picked up his 5th foul in 9 minutes of PT. Not that this could be constured as GO's fault, the officiating problems have been well documented. Just to give a good example Martell Webster almost fouled out in short PT ...Martell Webster?! Three blind mice indeed.
@ 0738 GO grabbed a rebound, stat line for the night 4pts 2 rbs. Yuck. Bad night for GO. Another slow night for Roy. Joel, Andre, Jared, and Howard had struggled mightly to keep us close... but just barely. Then at 06:57 Oden got the ball deep on Nene and slipped the ball over the rim as he was fouled. Somebody woke up the giant. From that play until He fouled out at 02:27 left Greg just plain dominated. He crushed the Birdman with a 2 hand jam after a spin move that left the whole RG screaming. This wasn't one of those hold onto the rim for effect dunks. The ball came down and rickocheted off Oden's own foot and shot into the stands! His next play on offense the Nuggets apparently thought better of single coverage and sent KMart to double. Oden up and undered them both and layed the ball up off the backboard from under/behind the backboard with his LEFT hand. And One. On defense he OWNED the paint. Blocking shots and gobbled rebounds and clogging the middle. Oden shook his arms in the air! Shimmied and yelled! Yes Oden foulded out in 15 minutes of play. But in 5 minutes and 11 seconds Oden showed us a little tip of the BIG iceburg that the NBA his headed straight at.
It has been said that the Trail Blazers aren't going to surprise anyone this year. If missed the 5:11 out of the RG last night that statement maybe less true than peolple think.

I feel happy for Greg
He has taken way too much crap form the media and fans over the last two years.

I would like nothing more than to see GO succeed – and I have no doubt he will

That was amazing
I literally did not know he was physically capable of doing what he did.
He got the RG rocking last night.
As Greg said with his game last night, get that negative junk out of here:

Well when you show a picture from that angle
You make him look huge. That can’t be an accurate representation as he looks too ridiculously commanding out there:)

Pritch's face looks hilarious!
Great shot.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

that is a GREAT pic!
I’m so glad Greg is doing well. I know everyone is, but I just can’t wait to see Oden doing really well in the regular season and silencing his naysayers.
No matter what angle you look at it from, it’s going to be hard for guys to get open looks at the rim if Oden is nearby.
I'm going to come up with the best line here ever, something really clever.

I found this on youtube, it is the KGW news report from last night, it shows a few of the Greg Oden highlights including;
-his dunk on Chris Anderson
-his block on Afflalo pictured above
-his spin move, lefty layin.

His layup from behind the backbaord is more impressive than any dunk.
He can play.

I agree
He spun by Martin and made a nice spin shot with the left. That was sweet!

Juwan's reaction to Greg's hook/and 1 on his dish was cool.

That run was why, in the end, Greg could (didn't say "will," said "could")
be the clear choice over Durant. In that 5 minutes stretch, Durant could well score 12 or 15 points, but he is not turning the game around like that by himself. That can only be done by being a force at both ends of the court.

It's "Official" no pun intended...kinda
These replacements refs blow. Why can’t there be peace with the everyday refs that don’t call enough fouls for 90 free throws?

How many teams will be able to guard Greg when he plays like that?
The answer is not many. He was embarrassing Nene and Birdman, although Anderson did block him once. But that spin move seriously looked almost like a dream shake, and I thought he was gonna wag his finger after blocking it (while keeping the ball in-bounds and going right to B Roy.) Might have to change his name to Hakeem Mutombo, or maybe Dikembe Olajuwon. There is the question as to how consistent Greg can be with this level of play, but he’s only going to get better as he figures the game out more. I’m going to see the Blazers and the Nuggets on the 29th, and I’m really hoping to see the Big Man dunk right on the Bird Man’s spikey head several times.

Did anyone else see Greg get mad at Brandon?
During Greg’s stretch of dominance, he was working the right-side box. He pointed where he wanted Martell to be to make the entry pass. Roy was at the top of the key with the ball. Instead of passing to Web (who presumably would have passed to Oden), Brandon went to the hole and got fouled. No harm, but Greg was noticeably upset.
