To anyone who would like to email the NBA regarding bloody, nasty, crusty scabs.
Here is a link to the contact NBA page. I wrote an email telling them how I will NOT be purchasing NBA league pass if the games are going to be this long and boring with scab officials. I'm sure it will fall on deaf ears, with David Stern dipping kittens in chocolate before eating them like popcorn, laughing an evil laugh in the back of the room while whipping the poor saps who actually have to read this crap, but it made me feel better.

I don't get the big deal
You always hear “let the boys be boys”….how about we let the games be games? Things have a way of shaking out….I’d rather see these refs figure things out themselves than getting used to having Big Bad David Stern over their shoulder. They should call their game according to their best ability, not what some commissioner wants for television purposes.

^^I'm not saying the reffing hasn't been bad--it has
I just think that complaining via email isn’t going to do much—even if David Stern did read the emails and decided he’d talk to the refs because of our emailing efforts, David Stern yelling at the replacement refs isn’t the answer.
This is a huge change and the refs need more in-depth training than they’ve had, not just some guy telling them to "call less fouls."

You're right. It probably won't do much Prez. But it took me less time to email it and make me feel better than you probably did to write your comment.

fair point
I just remember I am one of the loudest critics of the “good refs”, so I’m a little more lenient towards the new refs.

I was at the game
it was horrific. The calls were terrible both ways. The game was too slow. We were towards the end of the first quarter and the nugs had like 19 points 15 from free throws. Thats some crap man. The real refs are annoying and have flaws but they can handle the game and let the players play ball.

I was thankful
It was a 6 PM start. That would have sucked as a 7 or 7:30 start.

I'm not blaming the refs. I agree they're proably doing the best they can.
I don’t want David Stern to yell at the scabs. I want the NBA to bring back the normal refs. Yes, they are frustrating sometimes, but these scabs are ridiculous. Lesser of two evils, just like presidential elections.

Sent one
For me, even had I not been there and seen how bad it was, the fact that both teams made more FTs than FGs should be a red flag that the officials are ruining the game.

If the replacement refs do get a lot of burn, then we're in for a long season—there's no two ways about it.

You will get a standard answer along the lines that the refs are the most metricized and best group of employees on the planet
Just like you would have last year when you emailed about their terrible performance in some playoff series:
“Thank you for contacting the National Basketball Association with your concerns regarding officiating. The NBA’s highest priority is to ensure that every game is determined on its merits, thus providing its fans with an honest and truly competitive league.
The NBA has a covenant with its fans. To preserve their trust, we make every effort possible to ensure that league processes and procedures are as thorough and transparent as possible.
We take seriously the actions of our officials. They are the most measured and metricized group of employees in the world. Our officials are held strictly accountable for their actions and we track every call they make to continually develop their abilities, with the understanding that their mistakes only make them human.
Thank you again for your concern. We appreciate your feedback regarding this issue.
Sincerely,
NBA Fan Relations"

Better get rid of them before they become competent, if that's possible.
They’ll get hired and free ride on the benefits after choosing to undermine the people that worked for them. Scabs are parasites.

Well, Schonley always said
“Gotta make your free throws.”
I dont think he ever thought the difference between a 60% and 80% free throw shooter literally meant 20 points in ONE GAME.
Yeah, bad officiating. I am sure a big reason people didnt seem like they were in a rhythm was because the officiating wouldnt allow for it. I remember playing poorly officiated games in School and once you started to feel any kind of momentum. TWEET! Time to start from scratch again.

Am I The Only One Sick Of Stars Getting All The Calls?
Anyone else remember Travis Outlaw getting called for a travel in Cleveland when he could have tied the game? Remember him getting hacked by Lebron Uncalled) the next time he had the ball for the tie??? Remember Yao Ming hip-checking in the playoffs — also uncalled?
Yes, the reffing sucked last night — I was there. It was the longest first quarter I have ever seen in my life. Still. if it means no more Lebron James “crab dribbles,” and so on I am completely for new referees.
When everyone plays with the same rulebook, I think it is overall going to be a much better game for the fan.

When I went to the Sacramento game,
I was feeling the same way as this. Last nights game was a truly unbelievable spectacle in bad officiating. If the Sacramento game was ‘Armageddon’ then the Denver game was ‘Plan 9 from Outer Space’. The Sacramento game was bad, but you could eat your popcorn and stomach it thinking that the problem may work itself out eventually. The Denver game was comedy, and it was clear that no amount of time and experience was going to fix that debacle.
I am hoping that if the NBA is going to continue to push the referees union in this matter that they do a cleansing and lose the worst 10% before going into the regular season. I pray that will bring it back to respectably bad.
It wasn't the first time I'd been kicked in the cherries and called a rat by a woman, but it was the first time I didn't mind.

I always feel sorry for scabs
In most movies they get beat up with axe handles. I’ll never hate someone for working to support their family.

Every time we have negotiations at work the company starts making scabs visible to scare us, and While I am particularly ferocious to them, I also feel a little bad. It must suck being hated so much.

I volunteered to scab if my union went on strike
I pay over $100 a month in dues and all the union does is keep people, even I want fired, from getting fired.

Sent my letter...
To David Stern:
OK, you’ve made your point. Now, pay the refs.
You can indeed (temporarily) keep customers who have already paid for the entire season based on good faith that the league will uphold their bargain and place a believable, entertaining product on the court. But they won’t be happy, at least not with these sub-NBA refs.
Is it really worth a few million in expense reduction if the viability of the entire league suffers? Really?
Count me as one of millions of paying customers who don’t think so.

It would be interesting to know
about the impasse and what is causing it. Are the refs demanding too much money? Considering player salaries are beyond ridiculous, how could refs be demanding anything that gets them shut out to the point of the NBA sacrificing its integrity?
I’d like to know why the two sides can’t compromise. I’m in no rush really. Truth is as alluded to above somewhere, NBA officiating has always been biased towards the league’s Prima Donnas. They have always been afforded the benefit of any doubt, and refs are willing to overlook the rules, especially calling fouls against them, in order to keep them on the court, presumably to keep their fans happy and mindlessly entertained. The neutrality of the game-calling has never been in question. It’s always been skewed to give Stern’s money-makers the advantage. I’d rather see incompetent officiating any day over the top-down Stern influenced corrupt outcome maneuvering the NBA calls meritorious.
I did not say this. I am not here.
