I'll be on the MSP on 95.5 The Game Monday morning at 8:20 and part of what we'll be chatting about is Blazersedge Night. I wanted to get this update within easy reach of any listeners who might check out the site.
In a nutshell our goal is to send 400 area kids who wouldn't otherwise be able to see a Blazer game to the January 25th contest versus the New Orleans Hornets. We've reserved that many contiguous seats in the Rose Garden for that date and we're asking people to buy the tickets and donate them to the cause. We're hovering around 230-ish sold at the moment with a couple months to go. We're getting messages from teachers and principals and organizations around the Portland area who know kids who would love to go so we're going to have no problem distributing these tickets as long as we sell them all. We don't want to turn anybody away and we need your help.
The cost per seat is $22 with a $5 service fee per order (not per ticket...so if you buy, say, four tickets you pay the fee only once). That small amount makes an amazing night for a kid who doesn't get many of them. You can click here to read stories from last year's event. It makes a huge difference.
Ordering information is below. Dig deep if you can.
Blazersedge Night: Monday, January 25th: Blazers vs. Hornets
Tickets sell for $22 each. There is a $5 service charge per order no matter what the size. Save money by buying tickets together with friends.
How to Order
You can call the Blazers directly at 503-797-9637. PLEASE MAKE SURE to tell them you're ordering for Blazersedge Night and that you want the tickets to be donated to the kids. (Side Note: We also have a block of tickets reserved for BE folks who want to attend. You can buy seats for yourself if you wish.) The Blazers accept all of the usual forms of payment.
You can also make a PayPal donation to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will pool the money collected and purchase tickets with it. You can donate enough for multiple tickets or even partial amounts...anything is welcome.
You can also e-mail me directly at email@example.com if you'd prefer to send a check via snail mail.
