Odens stat line doesnt look so great
he does good against teams with no center, no real center, but bad against established centers.

I don't think Okur was causing him much problem....
1) Entry passes were sloppy (as were most passes)
2) Other defenders were collapsing quicking because no one could shoot
3) He was getting some unpleasant bounces, but had good looks. I think it was just a bad night shooting for all our guys (except Blake).
Keep in mind that 7 points, 9 rebounds, and a block ain’t too bad in 18 minutes, while playing with our lesser players much of the time.

okur isnt really a traditional center
imo oden misses roys hand offs, his offensive game on its own is average at best at this stage, most of his offense comes from offensive rebounding/hand offs

That's another TV show which would've been better off as a movie.

These preseason games has really made me not that excited about the season. The defense is disappointing and
they can’t get any stops. The Jazz score effortlessly and the Blazers just keep making stupid turnovers. I’m really not even looking forward to listening to any more games.
Jazz dominated two preseason games vs. Portland last year also
but I agree. I’m concerned there won’t be improvements on D, and if that’s the case I will be on the “Fire Nate” bandwagon by midseason.
The turnovers don’t concern me as much. Nate won’t stand for those.
Some kid got pissed at me when I said last year Nate will be fired if we don't make it far in the playoffs.

The only way I see Nate McMillan getting fired is if the team misses the playoffs this year.
Now, if the Portland Trail Blazers are once again ousted in the first round — which is a strong possibility — then he’ll be firmly on the hot seat. Personally, I’m for firing McMillan in that case and subsequently hiring, oh, Jeff Van Gundy; however, my mind tells me that Paul Allen, Kevin Pritchard, and the other decision makers probably wouldn’t be so hasty like me.

Defensively, I’m surprised we’re looking this ragged. It makes me lean more toward Nic at the starting three just so we can have a perimeter stopper. Roy will be better, he’s the straw that stirs the drink on offense.
