Stephen Jackson is my favorite.

Jackson is mad for all the right reasons.
“It was only me standing up for myself. I don’t think anybody else stood up for me. But if the shoe were on the other foot, I would have stood up for somebody on my team, and they didn’t do the same for me.”
Jackson wanted someone – the coaching staff or his teammates – to back him when he and Bryant tussled through the preseason game’s opening 10 minutes. Instead, Jackson picked up five personal fouls and a technical, got into a shouting match with Nelson on the sideline, was sent to the locker room and later was suspended for two games.
Is Don Nelson even a coaching anymore? What the hell is going on with that team? Maybe if he didn’t jerk guys around so much he wouldn’t have problems with players every single season. In the past two seasons Nelson has had confrontations with Baron Davis, Stephen Jackson, Monta Ellis, Jamal Crawford, Anthony Randolph, and Al Harrington. At this point I can’t blame Jackson for feeling trapped. He’s in basketball hell.
It’s time for Kevin Pritchard to release him. If this preseason has shown us anything, it’s that our perimeter defense still sucks. Jackson is a terrific defender, a legit point forward (who needs TurK), and a competent three point shooter. He’s everything you’d hope Webster or Batum could become, minus the fist fights.
He was also big part of the Spur’s championship run in 2003. Did he gel with that organization?
He was the best teammate on our team that first year. He was the first guy off the bench high-fiving his teammates during timeouts. He was in every single huddle. He was juiced at practice ready to play and compete and make the starters better, and it carried over into his second year when he got his opportunity to get out onto the floor and prove he could be a vital part of the organization.-Mike Brown
In the right situation Jackson could be the perfect role player for this team, and he could be had for almost nothing. It’s a little risky, but so is our defense.

Remember this guy shot up a night club and used to regularly throw gang signs after making a three. I think there's very little chance he comes here.

He didn't shoot up a night club.
He shot in the air while someone was trying to run him over in the parking lot. That’s completely appropriate. As for the gang signs, I’ve never seen any evidence of that. Seems like an internet myth.
I love Jackson. He’s misunderstood.

You saw him shoot up a night club first hand?
That’s incredible.

I have seen him flash gang signs in games.

- NBA players love to throw up hand signals. I see Rudy flashing “gang signs” all the time. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt before I accuse them of stuff. Maybe Jackson just really loves to use sign language.
- Even if he was throwing up gang sign, I don’t really care. That’s his business and until it’s proven that he’s committed some sort of crime, it doesn’t matter much to me.
- I would be worried about his influence on the team, but less so than a guy like Artest. It’s a risk, but not a very big one in my opinion.

I flash my gang sign everytime I hit a 3 at the YMCA
4H is a gang, right?

This is not to knock Jackson ...
… but saying his actions outside the nightclub that night were completely appropriate is an indication of how little experience or knowledge you must have with regard to the responsible handling of firearms.

I was just joking.
I own firearms, but I certainly don’t shoot them outside of night clubs. It was a stupid thing to do obviously.

Sorry. One can't always tell when another is joking.
I do generally agree with you regarding Jackson. He’s certainly guilty of some poor decision making, but from what I’ve read, he’s not poison.
That said, I’m not sure I want to see him as a Blazer.

To be fair
If someone tried to run me over with a car, I’d shoot at the car than up in the air. Bullets are expensive these days and I am too poor for warning shots.

This situation can't end well
Heck, it’s already cancerous. I don’t know what GS is doing in keeping the guy around. But then, their management has done some curious things (to put it nicely) over last couple years.
Anyone that hates kobe is OK in my book. Think we can get him for Martell + Outlaw? GS does like having lot of 2’s and 3’s on their team, so what’s one more?

Maybe.
He’s done well in the right situations before. So it’s not like he’s a bad guy, just in a crappy situation. If we could get Jackson AND Turiaf, all our problems would be solved, but I doubt that happens.

We would have to trade ALL of our wing players, since those are the only players in Golden State ( besided Biedrins ) that play a lot of minutes.

Outlaw and Blake might do it.
Especially since they hate Ellis now too.
