Blazers vs Suns thoughts, Video
If you were not among the 11,140 fans at last night’s game, chances are you didn’t get to see much of it since the Blazers and Comcast in their infinite wisdom decided not to televise it. Funny thing about the tickets for the game. They were printed by ComcastTix.com.
I was fortunate enough to acquire tickets that were mid-court, about 5 rows from the front.
It was kind of weird watching a Blazers game without a stat board, hustle board, or video screen, however, we did have the original Memorial Coliseum organist present and playing. Who really needs statistics when you have live organ music?
The guy sitting next to me brought in a battery-powered radio in order to listen to the radio call for the third quarter. He said he went to 3 different stores before he could find one. He spent $40 for his radio and said, "Money well spent."
My wife and I attend almost every Blazers home-game, but this was her first opportunity to experience a game at the Memorial Coliseum. I had forgotten how loud it gets in there. At the Rose Garden, it is easy to sit and have a conversation during the game, but at the Memorial Coliseum, I found myself shouting just to talk to my wife.
There were plenty of video-cameras at the game. Clearly someone was filming it for posterity sake, but the odds of any of us mere mortals obtaining any of that footage are exceedingly low.
Because of this, I took the liberty of filming my own highlights of the game. For those of you who haven’t had a chance to see the new and improved Greg Oden, I think you might enjoy this footage. Also, the clip of Martell jumping over Amare Stoudemire is great.
WARNING: These clips are handheld, from the lower court, so it is somewhat jerky. Also, there are plenty of other fans in the frame.
Here is a link to my first-half video. It is 8 minutes and 41 seconds of goodness.
For those of you who can’t bear to watch the whole clip. I advise you to watch from 6:23 to 6:45. You will get to see a nice Oden assist, and Martell’s amazing dunk attempt. There is also a sequence about 7:50 where Roy misses, Oden rebounds, passes to Miller who eventually misses again, then Oden grabs another board and puts it in. Miller to Lamarcus alley-oop at 8:23 is great also.
Second half to follow.
*************UPDATE*****************
Here is a link to my second-half video. It is 9 minutes and 45 seconds.
Enjoy!

Thank you
Great job. I can’t wait for the 2nd.
Not being able to handle a hangover will lead to a level of maturity.
Wheels to Jason Quick
If he showed much more of our defense from last night,
this video would be more of a downer.

Offensive sets are much better
I recorded the defensive sets, but I promise you don’t want to watch them.
I too recorded some of the game on my digital camera
I got only about 3-4 minutes, but it spanned some of the same time, and from the upper level across from our bench.
Blazers win!
Youtube finally finished rendering the first half
Don’t forget to click the “HD” in the bottom right corner to watch it in HD.
Thank you

The Princess of Blazersedge
It just takes an iron fist to keep the riff raff under control and her princess hand is mad strong- Idoltime
Thanks a lot for posting this stuff.
I know we’re only seeing clips, but G.O. looks to be the best Blazer out there thus far.
*Unless KP has a secret plan that makes this statement incorrect.

I got one at Goodwill for $2.99. All I can say is, thank God the games are on FM, now! It was fun watching the Schonz from across the court and listening to his game call, in real time
During the pregame interview between Jay and Bill, they had Wheels, Tone and Vance sitting in-between them behind the table, and they had to lean over to make eye contact

My experience was just the opposite. in the RG the timeout music is much louder (especially the sub-woofers) I also remember a lot of acoustic tiles hanging from the ceiling in the MC that aren’t up there, any longer…maybe this made the old barn louder because the sound wasn’t baffled?
When reached 39 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
interesting to compare our experiences.
Maybe it was so loud where I was sitting because I was so close to the court. I agree that the music is louder at the Rose Garden, but the general fan noise making it impossible to have a conversation was much louder at my seats last night than at my usual seats.
SO GREAT! Since I could not be there, I'm starving for Blazer footage
Thank you SO MUCH for contributing to the community.
We all know what K*be did in Colorado to that girl. Dear Lord, please let whatever team that plays the LA Clankers beat them to oblivion. Amen.
PS: 99 cent store-great place to get a mini FM radio

What kind of camera did you shoot this with?
It looks really good! I’m debating getting one of the little mini hd cams that you can fit in your pocket that cost about 200 bucks. This footage looks good. Thanks.

This camera is primarily a digital SLR, that happens to have video features. However, as you noticed, it shoots great video.
Thank you!
Made my night, after suffering through another Blazer loss on the radio…
Say, maybe the decision to not televise pre-season games they knew we might lose because of trying so many different lineups makes more sense after all…
Amar'e was amazing on the DEFENSIVE end on wednesday and had three blocks..
He was altering tons of shots and blocked Oden several times. The people that say he can’t play defense don’t know what the hell they are talking bout cause he was the best defender in the game, he has the potential to be one of the best defensive power forwards in the league and would do incredible on a defensive team where all his skills could be used.
Also, Andre miller was the worst blazer defender in the whole game. He was so incredibly slow that every time he got past half court everyone on defese was already set, and on fastbreaks he aws terrible at leading the pack and missed many opportunities. Steve Nash was yanking him around and had an easy 23 points and 15 assists. Even when Steve Blake came in there was an attomatic shift in speed and the blazers were better defensively.
Every single person around me was shouting to put Oden in the moment he came out and the blazers suffered tremendously when he was out of the game. He was incredible and i was in awe about ten rows back. He was rebounding eveything and was incredibly efficient on offense. No joke: If he actually got the shots and time he needs he would be a 30 and 15 guy every night. With andre in he missed a LOT of open passes to Oden or when Oden could of taken frye one-on-one. Oden is going to be incredible this year and the blazers need to make the best out of his scoring ability. Oden should be getting 20+ shots a game because he shoots atleast 60% from field and pretty well from the line.
And Webster had an amazing dunk attempt on Amare that could of been an amazing poster if it would of fallen. Webster was great and looked very athletic.

Miller was terrible on fast breaks???
He basically took over the offense the last 6 minutes. He made several layups on fast breaks, turned two of them into three point plays by drawing a foul, drained a 3 point shot, and ended up being the Blazers’ leading scorer with 25. Plus, Miller made almost all of his free throws. I’m pretty sure no Blazers’ player made a pair the entire game except Miller. His defense is pretty bad, and Nash ran circles around him. I have no argument there. But he took almost every fast break to the rim in the final quarter. That’s what we want him to do, right?
Oden did look very good. He’s getting the ball to the rim much quicker. Last year, he almost always squared up and gave opposing players time to strip him, foul him or block his shot. Now, he getting the ball to the rim quickly with a much more diversified shot selection. I’m used to Greg getting the ball under the rim and hesistate because he doesn’t have room to go up for a jam. Against the Suns, he just went right back up and made several little flip shots from under two feet, giving the Suns defense no time to react. If memory serves, he only went to the line once.
I agree 100% that Oden should get the ball often, and he did not get it enough against the Suns. I also agree that Amare was was a beast out there. But I really thought Miller played well on offense. He looked like a 10 year NBA vet who knew what to do in crunch time – get the ball to the rim, take high percentage shots and draw fouls. It certainly wasn’t a perfect game for Miller, but I saw a lot of things that the Blazers simply do not and never will have with Blake at PG. IMO, Andre delivered.
Awesome quality! I swear, it's better than I get on LPBB by far.
I could even tell who the players were by their faces and shapes instead of just their body language. Thanks!
"Aneurysm".
When Outlaw wins a game on a last-second shot, it’s called an "annthefaneurysm". QualityPie
Fantastic videos! Thank you a ton!
GO and Andre looked good. Travis looked absolutely horrific, but I only noticed him in some clips.
