Random Blazer Sightings
Hey b-edgers, this is my first post here but I've been a loyal follower of blazersedge for a couple of years now. This is a great site and you guys all do good work. I've been so amped up for the season to start, and last night I was rockin' my Blazers gear at Macaroni Grill out at Bridgeport Village. About halfway through dinner I look to my left and sitting about five feet from me is Nicolas Batum! Like a lot of you here, he is one of my favorite players. I texted just about every Blazer fan I knew and I got 16 replies in about two minutes, which goes to show you that Blazers fever is alive and well. I got a lot of semi-angry replies cursing my good fortune :). My cousin even tried to one up me, as she had seen Dante Cunningham about 10 minutes before at a bowling alley.
A couple of people approached Nic and he was very polite and nice to everyone. A father brought his son over to wish him good luck, and he gave the little kid a high five. I wished him good luck and congratulated him on his successful summer play in Europe. He was very friendly and a class act all the way. I couldn't help but think about how far the Blazers have come since the jailblazer days. I used to think that it didn't matter that the Blazers had players with bad attitudes as long as they were winning. Now it is pretty clear to me how important it is that the current Blazers have embraced this city and its fans. It means a lot, and it makes me proud to be a Blazers fan.
My Blazers fever has reached an all time high now, and it will be even harder to contain after the game at Memorial Coliseum tonight! My dad used to take me to games there when I was a little kid, and we had seats right behind the Blazers bench during the golden years of Drexler, Porter, Kersey, etc. Tonight's going to bring back some nice memories, and hopefully create some new ones. It truly is a special time to be a Blazers fan, in part because of guys like Nic Batum who continue to show class both on and off the court.

Great story.
Can’t help but think about poor Nicolas going from French bistros to Macaroni Grill in Tigard. Hopefully someone who knows Portland well is taking him around to all of our great restaurants as well.

One of my friends was at the Macaroni Grill too. I was pretty jealous. That’s cool though.

B-Roy and Oden show up ocassionally
At the Crown Room in NW, my friend books the acts there so he’ll let me know when they’re going to come in (they’ll call ahead since they bring about 25 folks with them).

Dante Cunningham
the newest (and tallest) member of the Timber’s Army a month or so ago…
won’t soon forget seeing Jerome Kersey at New York New York in Vegas at about 3am and yelling out, “NO MERCY KERSEY!!” and getting a very appreciated head nod back from him…

Saw Nic having dinner at L'il Cooperstown in West Linn
last year.. I sat next table over, but nobody once bothered him… which I thought was cool… Gave him a ‘Go Blazers’ as he was leaving… He smiled and waved… Tall dude… really long arms…

okay, so I work at Jakes famous crawfish
and i see Greg about 3 times a month, Andre was in the other day, as was Thunder Dan Majerle. As cool as those sightings are, the funniest was the other night when I was actually eating there. Ron Jeremy walked in and sat right next to myself and my date, kept winking at her too!

Probably was...
If it was Ron Jeremy, he’d probably whip out his unit instead of stopping at winking.

Great story
I hope Nic wasn’t eating when folks walked up to him. I think it is rude as all get out to interrupt people when they are eating. And if one person does it, then everyone does it because they think it’s OK. That and folks who ask for autographs even if they don’t know the person, but they ask for one since everyone else is.

OMG I hate people like this

When I went to greet Rudy at the airport when he came to Portland there were so many people that just joined the group because they heard someone “famous” was coming. They had no idea who Rudy was and they were acting all excited to see him. So annoying.

A couple sightings.
Best one EVER was meeting the entire team in the locker room with Sophia. It was totally random and the coolest experience to have.

I've had a few
but the most humorous one was darius miles at irving park during my baseball practice. classic. oh and seeing travis and qyntel together at lloyd center

Almost all of my Blazers sightings were at Lloyd Center
Rider, Kelvin Cato and Rasheed. Cato and Rasheed went to the little e-game store on the bottom floor. Rider just rushed past with that “don’t talk to me” look on his face. Later, Rasheed went into the movie theater.
Years ago I saw Kenny Carr running downtown – it just looked like he was getting a workout in. – Elgin
