International League Pass Broadband Options
Not sure if there already was a FanShot about this, maybe one by Amlmart? The new options for ILP are out incl. demo games, so I thought I would link them up. Here are the product details (with my comments in brackets).
Option 1: League Pass Broadband Premium
Every game from the 2009-10 NBA Regular Season* (i.e. playoffs cost extra again)
NBA All-Star 2010* (just the All-Star game, or the whole weekend? Last year it was everything but the H-O-R-S-E and with some audio glitches)
High Definition quality video in widescreen 16x9 (not really HD. Rather as big as last year's standard screen judging by the demo games, maybe 640 x 480)
Live Game DVR: pause and rewind live action (nice, that's new and improved technology, hope it goes back to live and stays in sync)
Extended Game archives: watch any game On
Demand for up to 48 hours* (instead of 24. Not sure if it's really on demand or again on a defined rerun schedule, i.e. the game will restart say at 11 am ET and if you switch in at 11:30 it's in progress)
15 Instant Classic Games: A selection of the best
games from the prior and current season, available anytime (checked it out, this is pretty nice although there was no Blazers game for the demo and the sound went out of sync at the end of a long Bulls-Celtics OT game when scrolling around. But it really starts instantly with almost no buffering.)
$149.95 ($20 more expensive)
Monthly subscription: $29.95/month (no more day pass?)
Option 2: League Pass Broadband includes:
Every game from the 2009-10 NBA Regular
Season* (as above, no playoffs included)
NBA All-Star 2010*
Standard quality video in 4X3 aspect ratio (tiny judging from the demo, about as big as a justin.tv or ustream window. Definitely smaller than last year)
Games available On Demand for up to 24 hours*
$99.95 ($10 more expensive)
Monthly subscription: $19.95/month
Here are the demo games to judge the size difference of HD and SD
Funny side effect: Last year the channel often stayed live after the game and after-show especially on TNT, so after I sometimes could watch a bit Law & Order or something like that when not closing the window :)
* Local blackouts may apply (in some countries a free or pay-TV station has certain NBA rights, then the game can only be seen there.)

Premium it is, no point skimping on a few dollars when there's a noticeable difference.

Somebody to share the premium?
That’s the first thing that comes to my mind when hearing about the local blackouts. If they can resell the games I pay, why I cannot rent my subscription?
I live in Spain, and I don’t pay ILP to watch the games live, I pay just to be able to watch the games offline but in our daily hours, instead of having to wake up at 3am, as we had to.
Everything with ILP was great except when the Blazers played against Toronto, Lakers, Grizzlies. In such cases a Spanish TV-station bought the games and then there was only one choice: you watch it at 3 am or you don’t watch it.
And then we had the Comcast blackout, which also affects us. Many days I felt like a stupid; it was frustrating.
Shouldn’t I feel a little bit deceived/fooled by the NBA broadcast?
