Take the blue pill and your journey ends here

Take the red pill and you’ll see how far the rabbit hole goes.

The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

Hate to say it, but . . .

This is the first season in a few years for the Blazers that could possibly end with serious disappointment. The expectations going into the last few seasons were fairly low (e.g. “I’ll be happy if we just barely make the playoffs”) and nobody really expected that much. But now there is a chance that the Blazer season could possibly end badly. I’m cheering hard for the Blazers, and chugging the Kool-Aid as much as possible. But I’m worried about getting my hopes up too high and ending up bitterly disappointed. [Takes a big swig] Never mind, the Blazers are going to win it all this year! See you on Broadway for the parade!

I'm tempering expectations of my own for this very reason

To be fair

I bet a lot of people don’t even know what the specific reference is these days, especially young’n’s. This phrase, for better or worse, has become part of the venacular.

PC?

It has nothing to do with being PC, it’s your belief that young people wouldn’t know who Jim Jones is.

I never pass up an opportunity to make fun of huckers and snake oil salemen whenever I get the chance

it’s a shame more people didn’t take the opportunity to discredit guys like Jim Jones or L. Ron Hubbard when they were alive. They probably would hurt far fewer people when they were running around promoting their wingnut beliefs.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
