SONICS Documentary
Hey folks - check this site out. I saw the premiere (on the big screen) here in Seattle and the movie goes live, for free, streaming online Monday. It's a very well done (if a bit biased) documentary that details the heartbreak of a city losing its team. Highly recommended and interesting stuff which I think any NBA fan should be aware of, regardless of your team affiliation. Features great footage of Gary Payton, author Sherman Alexie, and a cast of villains.

I go to school in Tacoma.
Everybody here that I talk to refuses to root for the Blazers now that the Sonics are gone…
Will people of the Seattle area ever root for Portland?

Well, I walk around town with my Blazer attire on...
and get lots of thumbs up and positive comments from all kinds of people.
You know, it doesn’t have to be a dualistic thing, as in: Just because I love(d) the Sonics, I can’t enjoy the Blazers too.
They’re both NW Teams – or were – and I’d be thrilled to see the Sonics return, just as I’m thrilled to see the Blazers having such great success now.
So… speaking for myself … yes. People of Seattle are rooting for Portland.

...but there are plenty who are so hurt and bitter at ALL THINGS NBA right now
that they might not even support a SONICS team if they were to come back… so there’s a very wide spectrum right now.

and
I couldn’t really blame them for that. If that happened to the Blazers, I’d likely stop being a fan.
"Fernandez, to my eyes, is the Blazer who walks that walk most comfortably. A lot of Portland's fans (egged on, dare I say, by their local broadcasters) lament things like how Ron Artest or Yao Ming get to hit Brandon Roy's arms.
But I suspect Fernandez sees all that and thinks: We get to hit arms! Cool!"

Great doc. Points blame at all the right parties ( including the fans a little bit, how they truly rallied too little too late ).
Felt really bad for Sonics fans upon watching this. What a Zached up situation. I would definitely not root for the new team if ( god forbid ) the Blazers moved.

I just finished watching all two hours
It is a compelling and well produced documentary. Check it out sonicsgate.com. I really feel for the Seattle fans, and I am disgusted with the way Clay Bennett deceived the people of Seattle and NBA fans.

The film makes me much angrier at Howard Schultz (Starbucks guy) and David Stern than it does Bennett.
Stern seems so SMUG and slimy.
