Best Blazers/NBA Podcasts

After hearing from Casey that Courtside is, indeed, coming back to the Official Blazers Podcast soon, I thought it might be fun and useful to have people submit their favorite Blazers and/or General NBA podcasts.

Star-divide

I listen to podcasts on my commute and during workouts. I have scoured the web looking for any that focus on the Blazers. Here's what I've found so far, but please add your favorites to the list so this can be reference post for all Blazers fans:

Official Blazers Podcast

XML Link: http://feeds.feedburner.com/trailblazerspodcast

Additional instructions: http://www.nba.com/blazers/news/podcast.html

Description: This is the creme de la creme of the Blazers podcasts. They actually put time and energy into making the content fresh and relevant. Don't take this for granted. The Seahawks, for example, haven't updated their podcast since September. I expect more technology prowess and awareness from a Paul Allen owned team. You will find the Trail Blazers Courtside radio/tv show, some press conferences, and the Gavin/Dave/Casey podcast advertised on this blog.

Rating: B, would be an A if they added courtside each week and put more press conference on.

Morning Sports Page with Gavin Dawson

XML Link: http://feeds.feedburner.com/955MSP

Description: Pretty consistent Blazers coverage, although you'll want to check the description of each entry as they also do a fair bit of Ducks and Beavers coverage.

Rating: B. Good trade gossip and interviews. Stuff that can't really come from an official team perspective.

Jason Quick Chats (supposed to be OregonLive podcast)

XML Link: None

Description: These guys don't seem to understand what a podcast is. They call it a podcast, but there is no XML link to subscribe to so you have to download the audio manually. Very 2002. The content, though, is high quality. Quick is full of himself, but he has good insights. They call them Quick Chats and they happen about every other Thursday.

Rating: B-.Would be higher if they would actually make it a podcast to save me some time from manual downloading. Also doesn't happen all that often.

Wheels After Work

XML Link: http://feeds.feedburner.com/955Wheels

Description: Only comes on when the Blazers are at home and therefore Wheels in in town. I must admit I have not listened to this one much, but I keep checking it.

Rating: C. Not updated very often.

1080 The Fan Podcast

XML Link: http://hosted-media.podzinger.com/kfxx/feed/Primetime_Interviews.xml

Description: I had a bad XML link to this for a while, so I can't tell you much. It seemed to only have a Channing Frye segment, but the above link has Jason Quick much more regularly than Quick's own chat. Will definitely start listening to this one more

Rating: TBD. Haven't listened to it yet.

Let me know if you have others you would add. Enjoy, and let me know if you need help getting setup.

I can’t stop looking at his nose and chin.

Leave the poor kid alone

He’s been dominating the pick’em this year.

Its incredibly funny to me with how many games they watch (at least one or two nightly), that they can still be so off with their predictions.

NBA inside dish

was really good, but I have no idea why it is not updating. Had lots of good stuff when it was going. Hopefully it is back soon

Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

Chad Fords is cool when he does it

I like how it’s normally only about 10-15 minutes long

The B.S. Report is always good

especially when Bill Simmons does basketball.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
