Is Brandon Roy really injured??
From JQ:
*Brandon Roy became a new father on Monday night. His fiancee, Tiana Bardwell, gave birth to the couple's second child, Mariah Leilani Roy at 5:22 p.m. in Seattle. Roy said she weighed in at 6 pounds and was 19 inches.
This begs the question....
...is B-Roy really injured or did he just want to miss the Lakers trip so that he would make sure he did not miss the birth of his child?
Also, why was she born in Seattle?
Oh and congratulations Brandon!

He already has a son . . .
It is certainly an interesting coincidence. I bet he’s hurt though, just maybe not as badly as we think?

Doubt?!?!?
Do i hear doubt in the almighty B-Roy? Blasphemer, Infedel, dirty rotten non B-roy Believer! LOL I kid, Seriously though a hamstring injury is nothing to play with. You get one of two scenarios 1: he misses a few games resting the hammy in january to come back strong for the rest of the year. 2: he pushes it. it bothers him all year and gets bad just when we need tp make the push for the playoffs. Number one i’ll take, number two i’ll toss myself from a bridge. LOL Again i kid.

Best thing to come out from the Sonics moving away from Seattle: The only other town that Brandon ever wanted to play for
And he won’t move from the NW to play for the Non-Sonics now :)

Webster always said that he wanted to play for the Sonics.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

I took those quotes
As nice pandering for the local papers/TV peoples, not actual “MAN I wish I played for the Sonics”. No one tells the local media they wouldn’t want to play for their team, unless they are Ruben Patterson-esque in the brain area.
Webster spends most of his offseason in Los Angeles working out (with Bill Bayno and other trainers), so I’d bet he’d prefer someplace like that where he can do his music and be a young dude. Not that I know him, of course… I’m just always skeptical of the quotes players give to local media types, since they’re usually just trying to be nice and not offend anyone.

He makes phat beatz in his spare time
Even bringing his keyboard with him on road trips, and plays it on the plane rides with headphones on.
He describes it as PM Dawn, mixed with Jodeci, and a spice of Heavy D and the Boyz to smooth out the flow.
The first sentence and the title of the post are true, at least.

I haev ALWAYS had this in the back of my mind but no I don't think they would do that
if he wanted to see the birth, he would have stated as much and been there. Missed a practice perhaps miss 1 game (it’s happened b4) so no , I think the hammy issue is legit
and I hope he gets completely well and we make a strong push once he comes back.

Completely agreed
Players miss games for the death of not-so-close relatives in the NBA and other family “events” if they inform their team in time (Marion, Wallace, … this season). Brandon is way too competitive, he would have tried to play then rush back if there was the chance.

Considering
He missed the Chicago game in 2007 in his rookie year to see the birth of his son I think he would openly miss a game instead of ‘faking’ a hamstring injury.

I bet he would have missed the game no matter what…but he would have been honest about it if it wasn’t an injury (and he wouldn’t have missed the NO game).

Fakin'!... A little
Mmm hmmm.
I’ll question him!
Don’t blame him at all for missing work for the birth of his child. I did. You probably did.
It’d be kinda messed up if he skip work….it’s just basketball….right?

Might have tipped the balance....
….the Blazers have been pretty cautious about guys coming back from injury. I’m sure that the strain was real, but the impending birth may have entered the calculation for when to bring him back.
It is also possible that KP may have liked the idea of adjusting the rotation, if he is trying to make up his mind about personnel issues prior to the trade deadline.

no
If Brandon wanted to be home for the birth the team would have given him the time. No need to make up a story. I saw Brandon limping around the Rose Garden this weekend. He is hurt. KP himself said just yesterday Roy wants to play and they have had to talk him out of playing.

I had to see the results of your poll before I could vote...
and when I saw 32% had already voted I hate you, I felt okay doing it too. I didn’t want to be the only one. But it’s just for jokes, I don’t really hate you. Couldn’t resist.

Please, he's hurt
He can’t get away from basketball. While his fiance was in the hospital and just starting to go into labor, guess where Roy was? Husky basketball practice visiting with Coach Romar and dishing out some advice to the kids on the team.

The poll should have been “Is Roy a soft player, or the softEST player?”
I think they should let votes be secret on these poll thingies.
