Worst. Officiating. Ever.

How many phantom calls have there been? How many calls were only whistled 2-3 seconds after the fact when the Blazers had control?

meh, it's been questionable, but too bad.

a couple bogus calls is alright with me. That one game where they held Rudy’s jersey at the end of the game and gave the foul to rudy was the game I wasn’t happy about. This one hasn’t been horrible.

Dear Channing Frye

Please take some nice warm -up shots, get your guts going, get your head on straight, and MAN THE HELL UP!
I like you Channing. I think you’re a swell guy. But if I see you at the three point arc when you should be rebounding again, I’m gonna start calling for your trade ASAP.
Best wishes,

Great performance by the Blazers

but a couple things worry me:

Bigs – Joel and Greg each have 3 fouls going into the 2nd half. With Frye sucking big time, how do the Blazers respond.

Outside shooting – We’ve had so many open looks (Blake, Rudy), we need to start knocking them down. We’re doing a good job of drawing double-teams, now let’s take advantage.

Refs – Don’t let them get in your head. Keep playing good defense and forcing those turnovers.

Let them play through fouls

We’ll start hitting shots and the Lakers will start missing, but they probably won’t continue to turn the ball over that much

This depends on all of our role players

Batum, Channing Frye, Bayless, Fernandez, and Rodriguez.

Both Twin Towers have 3 fouls. No Roy either.

The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

Bayless has been testing the fences for weaknesses

by blazeraddict on Jan 4, 2009 7:52 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Greg looking strong, bodying up on Bynum

Joel limited by fouls

LMA shooting well from 15 feet, but not going to the rack

Blake missing every shot in sight

Travis limited by fouls

Frye being soft

Rudy playing decent, making good passes and hitting some nice shots.

Bayless doing a Jarrett Jack impersonation (lots of jump passes). Luckily for him, they’re resulting in assists.

Sergio hasn’t played much, shot is way off.

BATUM! Great game so far! A highlight jam over Gasol; good work in transition, hitting the open 3.

Huge run there by the Lakers.

Portland needs to keep it close or this one could slip away.

Blakey....

my GRAMMA can hit that shot.

I hate

the swagger of the Lakers.. Kobe trying to ref the game, Gasol’s ugly face screaming “OMG I NEVER FOUL”… erghhh

this is unbelievable

We’re playing great. If Blake and Rudy were hitting ANYTHING we’d be fine. Its not like their shots have been contested.

You got it.

It’s not a bad game. But the difference in FG% is huge.

by Timmay! on Jan 4, 2009 8:11 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

worst thing is

its not like they are forcing most of the jumpers, they were mostly good shots

by Yawnie on Jan 4, 2009 8:10 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

if you thought 46% shooting was bad

wait ’til you see 42%

So Miles played less than 2 minutes for Memphis?

Are they trying to mess with us?

And Oden, once again, is a rookie, so non-stop fast break basketball is like fast-forwarding a song while he's trying to learn the lyrics.

Should Blazers gang up on Memphis?

24 second violation

Portland is falling apart a bit.

by Timmay! on Jan 4, 2009 8:14 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

this is the biggest reason i hate the lakers

they’re up 9, have shot 2x as many fts as us, and they’re STILL complaining to the refs like they’re getting gipped!

by RipNation on Jan 4, 2009 8:14 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Correct.

The blowout is on, but the Blazers did a nice job playing with the Lakers in the first half. They need that Roy fellow.

That's up for debate.

Bad night for Blake, he probably is madder at himself than we are at him.

Probably because he had them playing together.

Game. Over.

I know it’s the 3rd Q, but no way the Blazers make up 12, on the road, against hte Lakers, without Roy.

At least the first half felt good.
