I met Jerry Sloan once
Ok, well, said hi to him at a Jazz-Sonics pre season game one time. He was friendly, posed for pictures, signed random stuff. Finally someone in a suit broke up the little shindig and told us Mr. Sloan was late for his radio interview.

I´ve read at the Oregonian that coaches are showing them videos where they are bullied, elbowed, slapped, ...
Coaches are saying something like “Nobody respects you, they think you are soft, and the Jazz more than others.”
The message is “When you know there will be a fight, you better start it”.

Update: It wasn't Gasol, it was Kobe falling into him. The irony
On the replay, it looked like Bynum’s knee was bent straight back (the direction knees aren’t supposed to go), and Bynum was clearly in a great deal of pain, but I’m certainly not going to make a diagnosis from my couch.
“The preliminary diagnosis is that he has a sprianed right knee. He is done for tonight, will not return. he will undergo an MRI and more tests tomorrow in New York. I’m told that they probably won’t get a lot of information from the x-ray here. They’re going to take a look anyway. More tests tomorrow in New York. Sprained right knee for now, definitely out for the rest of the night.”
Rarely is anything learned about these sorts of things until the next day, at the earliest, when the results of more tests can be seen. Obviously it’s not good news. How bad remains to be seen. So you know, it’s not the same knee Bynum injured last season.

I never wish a player to get injured ( except Odom, the thug ),
but Bynum going down seems kind of karmically correct. I hope he’s not out that long though, as I wanna see Greg make him cry.

yeah....they'll likely do that as a precaution
with hyperextension you need to rule out fracture . . . cause you get pressed bone on bone…but the ligaments usu do OK ….tendons will stretch some, but bone on bone is the limiting factor and helps preserve the soft tissue

one question: is there a difference between wishing injury on someone and making fun of it after the fact?
Nobody was on the BEdge saying they hoped he got hurt tonight. The injury had already happened by the time anyone said anything about it.
It’s not like we caused it to happen. It just happened. Stuff happens.

Dislike them, want to beat them, but physical injury is where I draw a line. Kind of like heckling – there are ways to be funny, and even funny + vulgar, but when you start talking kids/wives/etc it gets weird. Enjoying someone else being hurt creeps me out on a visceral level

Bynum had the knee dislocation injury last year and the x-rays were negative as well
With the knees, it could be anything. Ligament, tendon, dislocation, or meniscus.
