I'm taking a 1 month leave of absence from BlazersEdge
- I've been spending way too much time here.
- I keep making the same arguments over and over, failing to persuade anybody but the already convinced and succeeding only in pissing a bunch of people off.
- I don't enjoy constantly writing negative posts about Blazer players, but have felt in the past that its necessary to keep the homers in check.
- I'm tired of doing it, so I'll lurk but not comment for the next month
- Talk to you in late February. Go Blazers.

I apologize for saying you are a silly head, and if given the chance I’m sure you’d apologize for saying you wish I was dead, my fiancee is a fat stupid sloppy cow who you would murder if you had the chance, my dog is ugly and you want to drive her out to the countryside and yell anti-semitic slurs in her ear, and that my posts are too long. We each said hurtful things of about the same level of ouchie, so we’re pretty much equal.
For what it’s worth, I haven’t seen you say anything that bad, or even wrong. Who is giving you a hard time about it? I’ll murderalize ’em!
LMA takes too many jumpers, he hasn’t been aggressive enough at key moments, you ain’t wrong. So, please don’t feel like your screaming at a wall built out of the skulls of homers.
But please do take the time off if ya need it, as I’m sure it’s for the best. Just as you shouldn’t worry about what other fans think of the Blazers (they will surely hate us over time), you shouldn’t worry about minor disagreements here at Blazers Edge. I can’t believe anyone thinks negatively of you, and you’re one of the all-stars here— well, you would be an all-star, if you’d stop writing posts from 20 feet out and would remember to rebound your defensive comments.
You’re a great guy, I count us as friends, and I’m sure others feel the same. Unless I have missed something, nothing has even come close to being taken ‘too far’.

The East sucks at basketball though
Everyone knows the West has the better teams, so if anything Jakob the Snakeob will be arriving from even Westier locations, out on a quest to find the most efficientiest, rebounding percentiest, TS% bestiest player in all the lands!
He will find him in the wild ocean jungles to our west, deep under the Pacific ocean, below where the remains of Atlantis remain dormant and undiscovered by modern man. It tis THERE our basketball future lies, and only Jack the Snacker of the year 1999 is brave enough to venture forth into the wild blue yonder and search for this Gill-Man basketball human/fish hybrid.
He will not return all at once perhaps, but He will return. Perhaps it will be in a tersely worded “NO” response to a “LMA: Best PF in the NBA?” fanpost query, or a quietly unassuming but powerful stat geek update, but He. Will. Return.

LMA will let it go thinking it’s an alleyoop and he’ll be watching the guy coming in from the side — but it will go in.
A month from now, he will also have added 30 pounds of rock hard muscle, and will forcibly evict Pau Gasol from the entire Western seaboard next time he comes to town.

I know exactly how you feel, snake.
I took 2-3 months off at the end of last year for pretty much the same reasons. Blazers Edge is like online crack cocaine for me. I felt like I was spending way too much time on BE and getting into too many unpleasant conversations. The break did me good. Now I’m back, annoying everyone with renewed vim and vigor.

No no no no no...
…Jksnake99 is a great guy who loves the Blazers as much as anyone. He has pointed out flaws in LMA’s game that are certainly there, and he shouldn’t be ran off because of it. He has certainly not said anything that extreme.
Just because someone sees something different, doesn’t make them less of a fan. That Jksnake99 is willing to put his rep (and he’s certainly built a good rep around here) on the line to point out why we should hope Player X or Player Y improves on certain aspects of his game is a good thing… and that some take that criticism so personally, when Jake isn’t criticising ANY OF YOU PERSONALLY, just the basketball team we follow… well, I think the problem lies with the person who has a problem with Jake, not Jake himself.
It is hilarious to me, that things have been so good lately, that Jksnake99’s criticisms pass as “negativity” these days. All he did was point out true flaws in some player’s games, and how our team has to get better at certain things before we’re a true contender. That isn’t negativity, that is sharing his opinion, which is the whole point of Blazers Edge.
Not mindless “EVERYTHING IS GOOD EVERYTHING IS GOOD” while shutting your eyes tight and plugging your ears and humming.
I do not understand why anyone would have a personal problem with Jake. If you have one, it says a lot more about yourself than it does about Jake, as Jake certainly said or did nothing wrong. He’s a great fan and one of the best contributors to Blazers Edge.

but jksnake has been around a lot longer than you and as such many of us have likely spent more time “hanging out” with him than you have. JK is a cool dude, he’s just not as homerish as most of us. He’s the ying to our yang. The negative to our positive. The minus to our plus.
He still loves this team. He simply is one who is always looking at things from a different perspective than most of us. The difference between him and a noobish troll is that he criticizes intelligently, respectfully, and with insight. His points are usually quite valid, and he doesn’t usually get emotional to the point of going bananas. He’s been a fan through thick and thin, and he’s certainly not jumping off the Blazer bandwagon. He’s getting a handle on his life—nothing wrong with that whatsoever.
I love jk, and I wish him the best during his sabbatical.

I am going to have to agree with Miker on this one. People like JK just annoy me and are the main reason i started ignoring the game threads. People who comment on every negative aspect of the game and say nothing about the positive things the team does. This is basketball, there are going to be missed shots, turnovers, fouls, blocks and loses.
No need to say things like “here we go again” every time it happens because… Guess What?… its going to happen again, its part of the game.
I am not saying to ignore every negative thing about the team, but don’t make it your main/only focus. Every once in a while take a chance to enjoy the Rudy Three Point Shots, Roy Left Handed Layup, Oden Monstrous Dunks and LMAs 16 Footers.

Snake has been predicting for weeks that we get a 4-6 seed in the playoffs. That’s not negativity. Some people think he’s overly optimistic about our team.
He’s not wanting LMA to be traded like some people are. He says we shouldn’t give up on him. He just sees the flaws in LMA’s game, and isn’t afraid to say so. OK, I think he overstates them a little, and I don’t think he makes enough allowance for youth. But his analysis, as far as it goes, is accurate.
You don’t have to think LMA is Duncan reincarnated to be a Blazer fan.
