OK...here we go.  LeBron and company are in town.  We all remember last year and that Final Play.  How about we salt the game away well before that point this year?

OK, i'll spell it out for Y'all

bow4 meow scored 99 points in tne last JC.
That is only one point less than perfect.
If the PTB would have played that well this Game, they would have won.
99% of perfect is a very high acheivement, B4M did it. Lucky or Bonzi? I don’t know.

Cab

I dont know how good Hinrich is compared to Blake

by hayeclan on Jan 21, 2009 6:21 PM PST reply actions

They aren't that different in offensive terms

but I’m telling you, Hinrich is a pest on defense. He moves his feet amazingly well. If you added him to the lineup, and gave Batum/Martell a few years of seasoning, our perimeter defense issues are solved.

by Cablinasian on Jan 21, 2009 6:26 PM PST up reply actions

The only problem I see with it

is that Hinrich works best with the ball in his hands, which would mean some negotiating with Roy. But I think I’d be willing to let them work it out. After all, Roy will eventually have to share with someone unless he intends to play point for real.

—Dave

by Dave on Jan 21, 2009 6:31 PM PST up reply actions

disagree

Hinrich can do the same things on offense that Blake can. He’s a slightly worse 3 pt shooter, but given all the open looks he’ll get from playing with Roy, I don’t think it would be a concern.

Super Nic “Boom-boom” “Batman” Batum

I found a sports bar up the hill that says they will show the game, but it’s 10:40 am here, which means they likely aren’t open.
Also, if I start hanging around in bars in the morning (again), it will be tough on my get-a-job pledge, and my liver.

Hinrich

by hayeclan on Jan 21, 2009 6:29 PM PST reply actions

I don't think so

Its just that he’s been reported to be available and could probobly without giving up a key player (it would be RLEC+a pick, perhaps).

Blake

Is this a move you make right now? Or wait till next year? Do you keep Blake if it’s done now?

by hayeclan on Jan 21, 2009 6:31 PM PST reply actions

To be honest

I would be less than surprised if we traded for Mike Conley. That reeks of a KP move. “Fallen angel” type player, buy low opportunity, relationship with Oden. When Quick mentions the same player over and over again as a guy KP likes, we should listen.

Hinrich is probably a pipe dream.

by Cablinasian on Jan 21, 2009 6:33 PM PST up reply actions

Game should be good.

anyone got a justintv link?

The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

they'd be happy to just get rid of Kirk's salary

I don’t think it would take much more than RLEC.

by jksnake99 on Jan 21, 2009 6:35 PM PST up reply actions

I think we would need to make a 2nd move if that happened

That’s another guy who needs minutes.

We’ve still got Sergio, Frye, Outlaw and Digou to use. Would a combination of those guys get us Gerald Wallace? We’ve got lots of picks too!

"It’s a good ol’ fashioned Rip City beat down!"

by Magnum on Jan 21, 2009 6:38 PM PST up reply actions

I agree

bringing in yet another player who needs minutes without sending one out would be crazy. If we did RLEC for Hinrich straight up something else would accompany it.

I expected more of a breakout from Conley this year...

… but drafting Mayo has really set him back. I loved him coming out of tOSU and I would still be intrigued with him, however I’m not convinced he’s a better prospect that Bayless (Conley’s much more of a true point, but with Roy that’s not necessarily what we want).

Nobody has one of those

Great skills + freakish athleticism/body = monster

Jerryd Bayless = Marlo Stanfield
- Early stage Marlo at this point, but Bayless is the emotionless killer new to the game. He will take over, and there will be causalties – it’s just a matter of time.

LOL

Defending Sergio on the defensive end is a lost man. Hehe.

I'm not saying Sergio is good defensively

I am saying that Roy was worse than Sergio that particular half.

what...

The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

and option B is...

Martell Webster? Our guards are pretty bad defensive:

Decent: Roy
Bad: Blake, Fernandez
Horrific: Rodriguez, Bayless

Bayless Horrific?

OMG, quit while you have some credibility left.

by Balian on Jan 21, 2009 8:16 PM PST up reply actions

Bayless is pretty inconsistent

he’s aggressive but he fouls every 2 seconds.

So

You are judging Bayless based on tonight? Um, okay …

And most of the time he plays.

There are no good individual basketball statistics.

leaving the wrong people open again and again. Its fine to double LBJ but you don’t leave Mo and Wally.

It may be time to bench Brandon for a bit

Not for the benefit of the team, but to remind Brandon that if he doesn’t bring it, he’s no better than any other player on the team. He’s making mistakes, pushing himself to errors, and making defensive lapses.

by Timmay! on Jan 21, 2009 8:13 PM PST reply actions

yeah

he was hurt by some bad calls, but his D was dreadful that half and he was forcing it.

Nate going zone just shows he has no confidence in man-to-man D

I rather have the Blazers learn to play some man-to-man than play that stupid zone giving up wide open 3 pointers. They don’t even cut off drives, whats the fricking point. It only results in mismatches.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
