This is one of his good games. Early on, he had games like this about half the time. Lately its been more like a 3rd or a 4th of the time, but its fun when it happens.

1. I like Sergio a lot when he doesn’t shoot from the perimeter. He’s really cutting back on that stuff. I find him quite tolerable now.
2. Rex gets to the line to make his money, the 3 pointer there notwithsanding. Still a baby, he’s got a long ways to go. But he can play D and don’t let anyone tell ya different. Quick feet.

Jermaine and Kendrick Perkins are the most legit 5s he’s played well against. We definitely shouldn’t go overboard about this one, but it is nice to see Greg realize he had an advantage and actually go out and dominate. There have been games where he’s allowed smaller guys to take him completely out of the game.

LeBron draws the assignments against elite perimeter scorers, and he shuts them down (see Kobe: 9/22 today). Plus I don’t think there is anyone who is better at transition defense (that’s where the majority of his highlight blocks come from, anyway).
I am worried that LeBron will abuse our already weak perimeter defense, and the worst thing about him is that he’s quick and long enough to play defense on Roy, and is strong enough to bother Aldridge (who had a tough game against Maggette the first time we played GS). Oden needs to have another high energy game for us to have a fighting chance. I’m not looking for 20-10 production, but if he shades cleveland guards like he did to the bucks guards today, he will contribute exactly the kind of defense we need from our big man.

Didn’t shoot well tonight, although I’m beginning to wonder what it will take for him to get a foul call.
Ran the offense well though, and once Oden/Aldridge start being ready for his passes, there’s gonna be some sick dunks.

i agree with that
except its not to the same level D-Wade or Kobe gets calls… they’re small so the officials always look out for them. LBJ actually has to get hit to get a call, which he usually does.
But he can get away with a lot more than Oden.
Hopefully Oden reaches that point

Technically it's where you dribble while moving sideways or backwards.
But Lebron’s version is where he kind of hesitates in his move then either dribbles or takes his steps. At least that’s the best I can describe it.

Travis is actually a decent on-ball defender when he sets his mind to it. His biggest problems are when he is guarding a good shooter off the ball— he’ll often just forget to get out to contest the shot. I’m not saying he can check LBJ, but he’s the best we’ve got when Batum is sitting.

I can't remember the team that beat them before,
they just packed in and forced Lebron to beat them from outside, which, unless he’s really on, isn’t going to happen.
I looked it up.
It was the Bulls that I was talking about surprisingly. It think it was farther back than I originally thought.
And I might not be thinking about what they actually did,
but what his shooting percentages show you should do against him.

he drained three crazy threes in a row against the Blazers… well defended, just sunk them. It was surreal.

But it’s not often that he’ll do that. He’ll hurt you more if you let him get in the paint.
It wouldn't be a horrible idea to play Joel and Greg in tandem from time to time.
LBJ getting inside is going to be a foregone conclusion.

Just got back from the game, so I don't know if this has already been said,
but Miles logged 8 min in the Grizzlies loss to the Pistons. Kudos to Memphis for actually trying to use him as a player rather than just a means of moving numbers around.
