1990 Semifinals Strickland vs. Petrovic
Check out this video if you like the old school blazers and Serbo Croatian music
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNc43evvJxo
I was only eight years old when we played this game so I don't remember too much about either of these players. Anyone who remembers what they contributed could you fill in the blanks here? By the way I'm betting we'll go 4-0 on this eastern swing. Go Blazers!!! You're the one wyatt.

Thanks.
Little correction: the music seems to be croatian, definitively it´s not Spanish.

Snap this!
It’s by a Macedonian guy, Tone or Tose something, singing in Serbo Croatian. I think the singer died in a car accident, ala DP, so it makes sense

I still rock my Strickland jersey here in Sacramento.

Wasn't the question
who was the better BLAZER ?
As an overall player, and though I wouldn’t agree, some could argue Drazen was better than Strickland, but as a blazer ? Petrovic played so little in Portland, I don’t understand how he could receive more votes than the twirl… Ah…. only 22 votes until now, it may not be representative of BE’s readers…

Rod was a bit of a head case at times
But he put up decent numbers in a four year career in Portland after replacing Terry Porter (I think that is the main reason he isn’t held in too high of regard).
Drazen was a great shooter, but he was buried on the bench behind Drexler, Porter, Danny Young, and Danny Ainge, so he never really got a chance. Then he went to the press and demanded a trade, to which the Blazers obliged.
So ends today’s history lesson.

Rod was one of the best PG's
to never be an All-Star.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

there is no way
Rod would have gotten away with that in todays game.

Drazen was the better ambasssador to the game
and might well have been the better player had he not died…
but Strickland had by far the better career as a Trail Blazer.
It’s kinda like asking who was the better Blazer—Jerome Kersey, or Scottie Pippen? No doubt that Pip (a first-ballot HOFer when he is eligible) is a far better overall player than Jerome; but Jerome’s Blazer career was probably more meaningful then the couple of years Scottie spent here in the twilight of his career.
With Pippen, we got to the WCF, where Pippen was punked by Kobe.
With Kersey, we got to the NBA Finals twice—in one of which, Kersey was punked…by Pippen.
