Gameday Open Thread: Warriors vs. Blazers--Second Half

Fun Fact of the Day:

I usually Tivo games nowadays so I can put Baby Point Guard to bed and then watch instead of dividing my attention in two.  That means when I post these second half game threads I have to put my hand over the monitor in the spot where the scoreboard is in order to not see the halftime score in advance.  What I do for you guys...

Enjoy talking about the second half and endgame here!  I'll be about caught up by the time you finish.

I saw the replay from the GS broadcast

I understand why they were unhappy. We’d be unhappy if a player did it to the Blazer.

Outlaw just kinda pushed off Turiaf for effect, after the dunk. But he pushed hard enough the he helped Turiaf head into the front row.

He wasn’t being malicious, but it was a little… over-energetic.

Brandon Roy is our savior

Notice how things started turning around because of him. Oden helped too.

The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

But his catch phrase should be “chew the fat”

The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

Don Nelson would joyously stick Travis Outlaw at power forward in his 4-outside/1-inside ...

offensive system. I doubt that the Golden State Warriors’ front office would be dense enough to part with, oh, Brandan Wright in a trade centered around Outlaw, although nobody knows what is capable with that discombobulated organization.

Not pretty, but its a solid win

The best news from this game is that Roy looked healthy and shook off the rust by the end of the ballgame. Rudy also looked good, showing little indication he was dinged up.

Was it just me or did Blake play his best ~8 minute stretch of the year at the beginning of the 3rd?

It got kind of dicey towards the end there— our D in the middle of the 4th was bad, but not horrible— credit to the Warriors for making some tough shots.

What I liked about this win was that there was a concerted effort to really crash the boards. All of our bigs were getting their hands on balls, even those they couldn’t secure.

Finally, since I often rip LMA apart, let me mention that I though he played quite well today. He was active on the glass, only took about 2 shots I really disliked, and showed determination to get into the paint. Nice work tonight, LaMarcus.

The worst news of the day is that Houston won, and so did Utah (with the bigger problem being that they looked VERY good doing it, blowing out the Pistons).

Detriot did play a back-to-back with a nailbitter (no lead until late in the 4th for them) against Denver. Of course Utah looked well blowing them out.

Nice win after that sluggish first quarter

Outscored them by 22 the rest of the way. Rudy had some sweet passes and Greg was fairly active out there. He had his hands on a lot of balls, especially on the offensive glass. While it shows only 8 rebounds he tipped at least three that other’s corralled. I liked Travis on the defensive end tonight. Couple of nice blocks. Good to get this one.

I usually Tivo games nowadays so I can put Baby Point Guard to bed and then watch instead of dividing my attention in two.
