First (Junk Drawer O' 2009)

Happy New Year, BEdgers! Good luck to you in all your endeavors in 2009. And, may we see the Blazers not only get into the postseason, but prosper!

What resolutions, if any, are you all making? I've already started on one of mine recently, trying to be more positive in my comments on BE.

Well, I DID mean to post at 12:00:01, but ... there were tactical problems. My wife and I were at a small party with our friends, and about 11:00 pm, I realized they had wireless internet and a laptop that I could use. My wife was none too keen on the idea, but I thought wow, how cool would it be to have the 1st post of the new year. So I typed in the first part of this post, and just when our clock struck 12:00, I clicked to publish it, the rushed over to kiss my jilted-feeling wife. Never thought to check online whether our clock was accurate. Doh!

Anyhow, Happy New Year to all!

I rec’d it but had to unrec it when I realized it was four minutes ahead of schedule. HUGE MINUS ONE for CHEATING! Four minutes ahead of time? That’s as silly as trying to stuff six guys on the court at once and hoping the refs won’t notice.

That 70's show:
Kelso: Red! I guess ur wondering why I'm going through your stuff. See, I needed to borrow your saw...because I need to chop down a tree...because there's something stuck in it...an animal...a rabbit...and I would like to return that rabbit to the wild so it can lay its eggs!

Red: Kelso, rabbits don't..............how the hell did a rabbit get up a tree?

Kelso: uhhhhhh Eric threw it up there.

Red: Eric threw a rabbit up a tree?

Kelso: Yeah, he's a sadistic bastard.

jk. No love for Ben tho?

I’ll do one…for Ben…thanks for all that you’ve done since signing on board here. Terry Porter wouldn’t have been honored had it not been for you, and I’m sure you will be doing much bigger things this year.

Is USC going to make the PAC-10 5-0 in bowl games?

I normally wouldn’t allow myself to root for the Trojans but in this case I’m going to make an exception.

as far as reg season goes

pac 10 was pretty bad this season without looking at any season schedules. i remember the pac 10 getting snubbed year in year out a few years ago tho. if there was a playoff system usc would probably win. i think they’d be favored over any team in the nation. penn state had a similar stat line to usc all across the board, and they couldn’t even compete with usc.

great season for both teams

oregon lived up to expectations and OSU exceeded many peoples expectations. both teams had their fair share of adversity and handled it well.

I had one semester of Spanish

The one thing I remember clearly is the professor making it really clear that you have to pronounce the n(yea) correctly.

Our small high school of like 25 kids was like 50% foreign exchange

and one of the dudes from Venezuala made sure we did the n-yea correctly.
