DISCLAIMER!!!!!!

Before everyone flames me, I know this belongs in the fanshots, but there is a method to my madness.  I just stumbled upon these pictures and thought they were kind of funny.  So, I tried to create a fanshot but could only post one image.  I tried for a half hour to embed more than one picture but couldn't get it to work.  Although I am sure there is a way to embed more than one picture, it is far from obvious how to do so.  I also could not figure out how to embed an image AND place a title to the fanshot.  Basically, the formatting for creating fanshots is really strange, and not nearly as intuitive as the fanposts.  I think if fanshots are going to be used more often like Dave is hoping, they should make the formatting similar to that of fanposts, or at least have an option to use a fanpost type formatting system.  Anyway, back to your regular programming.  And just to make sure I stick with all of the fanpost's general theme lately, I say we trade a bunch of our scrubs for some really good player.  Maybe Web, Sergio, Bayless, and a few draft picks for Chris Paul or Deron Williams????   Ger-R-Done KP!!!

I was gonna' say you should have a vote on whether or not people like Troutlaw's sweater

but then I realized that no one would vote “no.”

Looks like a cool party!

It’s not one of fatty’s Rick Adelman themed all nighters, but you do have JJ, some unhappy fellow, and Trout’s pink sweater. Wish I had been there!

As far as the "avert your eyes future Mrs. Roy" picture goes,

I think the girl is just trying to talk to Roy above the music/party noise. I think even Tom would agree that that’s allowed.

Not a big fan of these types of pictures

Nothing controversial about them, but makes me feel creepy seeing other people’s personal lives. I’d like to leave their personal life out of the limelight. They deserve some privacy.

i think i have to agree

i like these posts because it’s cool to see dudes living life and having fun but I can totally see people getting all worked up about them and freaking out. It doesn’t really scream invasion of privacy beacause roy and others are obviously posing for the camera and it’s not some paparazzi action but I just hope that we don’t hear anyone complain about any partying cause that is lame.

by avalonzero on Sep 9, 2008 6:51 PM PDT up reply actions

Thats my thoughts too....

I am all for players getting their due privacy, but this is a public event in which the players are fully aware their pictures are being taken. Its not like the paparazzi snuck onto B-roys property and took pictures through a crack in the blinds of one of his windows. If anything, I think it is a good reminder that these guys aren’t robots built to play basketball and workout 99 hours a week. They are people just like us and they have a life outside of basketball. Whats wrong with getting a glimpse into that if they are willing participants???

I hope Roy gets fined

He’s got a lot of nerve wearing a hat sideways — SIDEWAYS, people — and enjoying himself at a party and seemingly standing around in group shots.

And as for those who feel we shouldn’t pry into Roy’s personal life, I say that Roy knew what he was getting into when he decided to be good at basketball. I’m a private sort of guy, so I decided to be just sorta mediocre at NBA basketball.

I will not stop prying and craving more and more detailed info about our players until the insides of each player’s pee-hole is posted on Blazers.com.

If you look closely

picture #5 titled “Look at the hats, can you say character issues???” It looks like roy is blowing out a puff of smoke.

"The next day in practice, if you sweat, it's going to come out of your pores, regardless. If you ask any coach around the league how many times they have smelled liquor on a player . . . As long as that player is showing up on time, doing the drills and running, that's part of it. But there have been times, yeah. Yeah, you probably smelled liquor on me. But it's not like I'm at practice drunk. I'm totally focused."

Lens flare. Crappy party, crappy camera.

by Norsktroll on Sep 9, 2008 4:43 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah but

look at the way his mouth is open, it looks like he is nonchalantly blowing out a puff of smoke. Think about it, in the news articles they always say he doesn’t drink except for the occasional glass of wine at a wedding but never mention smoke.

just a lens flare

happens all the time when you take pictures at night. Unfortunately for Roy, it;s in the exact spot where it could be perceived as a puff of smoke,
One thing I noticed is that in more pictures than not, none of the Blazers are smiling (sure there are a few, the the non-smiles outweigh them).
Come on guys, you got Oden back, Rudy’s coming, Nate has been taking lessons from coach K, and you’re at a party! Enjoy yourselves!

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside.
