Frye's With That
We were remiss in not catching Casey Holdahl's Three-Part Series on Channing Frye last week. Great stuff, including his off-season workout, his style of play, and frank talk about contracts. Check out all three parts.

He announced it himself
In that day’s junk drawer ;-)
Odenied: Asked whether he noticed Oden favoring his right knee, Frye dismissed it entirely. "He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors."

Disappointment
I just got really excited and actually re-read through several old junk drawers hoping to find Channing himself pimping his interview. Dang. Just good ol’ Lance Uppercut. I’d be willing to bet Channing lurks around here every so often, though.
Also, I highly recommend not ever reading junk drawers after the fact.

Sorry, yeah, I thought just the fact that Casey announced it was special enough

Ford: Bill, you're claiming victory already? Have you had a "Mission Accomplished" banner printed yet?

It took me a better part of the day
to get the headline.
I’m pathetic.

Oh, because "Frye" sounds just like "Frie," yep, you are pathetic.
Unfortunately your admission of guilt inevitably means the revocation of your Blazersedge account. We’ll miss you.

I know this is premature.
If Frye keeps improving, at what point do you at least think about trading LMA? Before you lambaste me at least consider this:
1: Frye is a better rebounder than Lamarcus. He has the 17 highest rebounding rate amongst power forwards while Lamarcus is 39th.
2: Frye is cheaper.
3: Frye is already a slightly more efficient shooter than Lamarcus. (including on midrange jumpers.) If he turns out to be a legit 3 point shooter his true shooting percentage should be even higher.
4: From everything I’ve read, Frye appears to be a better leader and locker room guy.
5: If he does become a legit 3 point shooter he will spread the floor for Oden and Roy even more.
6: Frye loves Portland, LMA loves Dallas. (See #2)
The big thing you lose by trading Lamarcus is interior defense. Normally that would be a huge loss, but with defensive minded bigs like Oden and Pryzbilla you’re probably going to be alright without him.
What this team lacks is a great perimeter defender. The Blazers might be better off with a guy like Prince or Harris defending the perimeter and keeping Oden out of foul trouble. What’s the point in having two great interior defenders if they are going to be in foul trouble all the time? It would also allow Travis to get more minutes at power forward.(I’m not sure if that’s a good thing).
I don’t know, just a thought.

Its OK to think about trading LMA
But only if you get someone really good in return.
Aside from interior defense, another important advantage that LMA has over Frye is better post scoring. LMA can be effective whether he is near the basket or away from it, while Frye is more of an outside shooting specialist. This gives you additional versatility because you can pair LMA with a shooter or a post player and he will do well either way, while Frye really needs to be paired with a player who can provide some interior scoring.

Why is Frye cheaper?
Also, who is Harris? Harrison Ford? That’s the only one available. And the Prince available is a guitarist.

Frye is cheaper because his contract will be smaller.
Harrison Ford IS a great perimeter defender, but he doesn’t shoot very well. I was actually talking about George Harrison.

George Harrison doesn't do anything - he is dead.
But I do enjoy his music.

Yes I'm sure.
“All Things Must Pass” was by far the best solo album from any of the Beatles.
