and Rookie of the year!

….goes to OJ mayo. sorry oden, the shots and opportunities are just there for mayo. I would still take oden any day.

If we win 50 games

And make the playoffs, and Oden is “only” averaging 10/10/2, and Mayo is scoring 20 ppg on 40% shooting, Oden wins.

The popular group-thought of the day will be that the award should go to the player who makes his TEAM better, not just has the best numbers. Everyone will say Oden made this up n’ coming team a bonafide playoff team and the future is so bright they must cover their eyes to prevent retina damage.

Since Oden is super-duper-hyped and already internationally famous, he’ll get the attention needed to win the award even if he has Al Horford type numbers. He’s going to be watched closely, as will our team’s progress.

And when we do good, he’ll get a lot of the credit, and the voters will vote accordingly, no matter how much Mayo or Beasley score.

That’s my bold daring prediction and I guarantee it be true (though I say Oden will be a better scorer than most think, and 15/10/2 plus some monstertastic games along the way and nightly highlight reel materials to make jeans tight worldwide makes for easy ROY award gettin’)

Same might be true for Beasley if Miami gets back in the playoffs

From a 15 W team to say a 40 to 45 W team would look at least as impressive as the Blazers adding 10 wins, even if Beasley is just the #3 scorer behind Wade and Marion and the second best rebounder.

Odenied: Asked whether he noticed Oden favoring his right knee, Frye dismissed it entirely. "He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors."

Ummm...

Beasley is not going to be that great. And even a healthy Wade can’t do that much improvement. They only will get into the playoffs because the East is weak. But I still doubt they will get there this season. No way are they going from 15 wins to 40+.

Miami will prolly get into the playoffs

But everyone will say it is because of a finally-healthy Wade, even if Beasley puts up 20/10. Wade is amazing when healthy.

It COULD happen, but as long as Wade is on the court, he’ll get the credit— so if he gets hurt and Beasley doesn’t get strangled by Riley and leads them to the playoffs, even the 8th seed, maybe he gets the credit.

I think us getting playoff-good and Oden getting the credit for it is much higher than Wade NOT getting the credit for a good Miami team. ‘Sides, whatever win improvement they get is false anyways, since that wasn’t an ‘earned’ 15 wins. A 30 game turnaround for them isn’t a TRUE 30 game improvement; it’s just them not tanking and Wade being back.

The pundits, dumb and surface-dwelling they may be, can sniff that out I’d think.

But who knows!

(Me, I do. ODEN WINS ROY)

hmm

If no one else will, I claim 8th.

9th!

They will make the playoff’s. We Will win IT ALL. Greg Oden will put out a Duet’s album with Channing Frye. Those are my predictions. With a voice like that, put it to use.

Grooming

This is not totally about numbers its still a popularity contest for any and all awards in the NBA, Oden is the rookie of the year barring a major injury he will also be a first year all-star. Too many supposed experts have him as the next big thing if he is knocking double , doubles on a consistant basis he is lock for all of the above.

I was on a bunch of different boards today and people bring Oden up constantly its wierd like he is already established as the next great center. He hasnt played one minute of pro baLL but is allready a cant miss prospect.

People are reading the articles

that say how strong and healthy he looks and feels, but I’ll bet the real reason is that Channing’s remark about how Greg “favors dunking on your head, that’s what he favors” has caught fire and swept through the blogosphere.

Anyway, they’re not wrong about him!
