New Oden Blog Post
I'm really scrapping for info here, but this is a nice read:
This week has been very good one for me. Last Monday was the first day that I could play 5 on 5. I felt really good out there. The first couple of games was really hard to get back in to the grove of things but after I settled down the game became alot better for me. They still havent just thrown me into playing every game, but I play every other game and every other day. The second day was so much better for me my wind was doing ok and I slowed myself down. Getting out there just got me really excited for when the season starts.
Other than me playing on me I moved into my new place. It really nice and just relaxing to have a view of the city of Portland. Also knowing that im in the place that I own feels good too.
Glad to hear he's feeling well.

I appreciate you posting that
Yardbarker no worky for me as of late…so good to be able to read Oden’s blog via you.
"I think that the team that wins game five will win the series. Unless we lose game five."
Who else? Charles Barkley
I saw GO....
…. Sunday morning at the Nike Human Race. He got up on stage before the run and talked a bit about being excited to play 5-on-5 and being back in portland and that kind of thing. I stood only a few feet away from him when he left the stage — it looks to me like he’s already lost some weight compared with pictures of him even a few weeks ago. He looked much more like the Oden we first drafted than the post-surgery slightly heavier oden. I’m not going to say he’s ready to go and pull 20/10 every night, but the dude looked good. Also, he said he’s most excited to go up against D.Howard, because he’s the only real comparison for him on the League…. he said Shaq is still playing, but he’s not the same as he once was. Anyhow, just thought I would share….
did he really say
that Howard is the only real comparison to him? or did you just add that yourself? If he really said it like that, then that’s awesome that he’s already confident in his ability
He said...
… that he was most excited to go up against D.Ho, because that is who he best compares with in the League. That isn’t a direct quote, as I didn’t record it or anything, but that was the gist of it. He said there were no other centers that can really do what he does, except for Shaq… and then he said that Shaq isn’t the same anymore. If anybody else on BE was there for this they can verify. He sounded very confident. Only other thing he said was that he was excited to be in town and his favorite place to eat in Portland is Benihana :-)
nice thanks for the recap,
makes me even more excited now that I know he’s feeling very confident
Don't tell that to Shaq, he might cry on the court
…or get really angry at Greg and foul him hard. And I don’t want to see either.
Odenied: Asked whether he noticed Oden favoring his right knee, Frye dismissed it entirely. "He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors."
Andrew Bynum eat your heart out!
Aldridge said. "We feel like we can beat any team. We feel like we can beat the Spurs, Suns, Lakers, Mavericks, whoever any night right now, and we'll still be here when those teams get old and their guys retire. We're going to be here for a long time."
Favorite line
“getting out there just got me really excited for when the season starts”
There may be a few of us who share that sentiment.
Did you see the photo of the dunk attempt that someone posted below?
Good God!!

If I remember correctly it stayed an attempt
Nice pic though

I was there
And yeah, didn’t really get that close to the rim because the G-town guy semi-tackled him. But he jumped off two feet from behind the dotted circle and didn’t look to be having any problem getting high enough to throw it down. It was one of the craziest exhibitions of athleticism I’ve ever seen in person.
Bayless isn't the second coming of Jordan.
Jordan was the first coming of Bayless.
I love the look on the faces of the guys on the bench
The first day I ever met him he said: "Hi, I'm Ritchie White. I'm on probation."
Yeah, who cares if he made the dunk
Just THINKING of dunking over someone from that far out is incredible!

I recently saw a scouting report on a player that read as follows (quoted from memory, will try to find it
“He gets to the rim at will, but has problems to finish”

He lives in the Pearl District, right?

If I remember right. I live in that general area, so I’m curious if I’m going to see him walking down 23rd…
