Trailmix aka The Junk Drawer-8th
Fun fact, Dheepan is the short for Kandeepan. The extra H is added for numerologly reasons. With the H, both my shortened name and my full name have the same numeric value. My mother is really into this stuff from some reason. My parents never actually use Kandeepan, so I don't really know why I have it. Kandeepan is the Tamil translation of the Hindi name Arjuna. I think. Not entirely sure, meaning I have absolutely no clue. Arjuna was the name of one of the prominent characters of the that one long poem the Mahabharata. Had to wiki the spelling.
If you wanna try out your name calculation and stuff like that click on the red words in this sentence.
My "psychic" number is a 6 since I was born on the 15th. That apparently means I am...
Loving and caring, everybody's friend, charming and charismatic, beauty oriented. Balanced yet paradoxical in their self expression. Good ally and counselor, home-maker, nurturing, sympathetic, service oriented yet independent. Periodical bouts of luxury seeking. Artistic, attractive, admired, adored, posses refined taste, sexual. Suffer when separated from family yet have to endure this occasionally, pleasant personality, excellent taste, open minded and open hearted.
Interesting coincedence though, I'm suppose to be highly compatible with 4s, and my two best friends were born on the 13th of May.
This one is on a different site and has goes into more details about name numbers.
Your psychic number is your primary personality traits. Your destiny number is rather self explanitory, it attempts to predict your destiny (future desires, beahviours, things like that). As a result, it generally doesn't apply to you until you reach age 30 or 35. Having matching numbers, like a 6 as a psychic number and a 6 as a destiny number exacerbates your strengths and weaknesses. So having mixed numbers means that some of the extremes of your number are evened out.

Mhm, interesting
So I am a “war commander / chief” (good career objective for somebody who did civil service instead of military service, maybe I shouldn’t have done that). My numbers are (on the first link) 8, 2 and 6, on the second one 7 (psychic) and 6 (destiny) and on the third one 1 or 6 (first name / full name number). Now what? This is more complicated than western astrology and salary cap numbers combined.

The first one gave me different numbers than the second name calculator, so I included it
I think the actual information from the numbers are the same though. I think I should get rid of it to make it less confusing.
Your psychic number is like your chief personality traits, as far as I know. So the compatibility and enemy numbers, day of the week, that sort of stuff is for your psychic number. The destiny number is more of a predictor of your behavior and desires in mature adult life. It becomes more important after the age of 30 or 35. So if you are a seven you are…
Vast, spacious, spiritual. Trouble with expressing their feelings and vulnerable to emotional explosions. Mystical, poetic, intuitive, may be psychic. Have self control and dignity, steady and reliable friends. Skeptical, torn between rational thinking and the call of the unconscious. Proud, investigative, philosophical. Prefer to work alone, opinionated, stubborn, cynical, perfectionist, unsure, escapist, vague. Difficult to be in partnership with.
Now your destiny number is a 6 so that means…
Family and home oriented, exude understanding and compassion. Connoisseur of luxury, in need of comfort, loving philosophy, fair minded, fine sense of justice. Artistic and beauty loving, generous, not necessarily logical with finances. Vulnerable to praise and criticism, responsible and willing to sacrifice for others, value friends and provide a safe port for them in times of need. Fulfilled in marriage and as parents. Emotional, idealistic and imaginative. May worry too much and suffer from chronic stomach problems. Will spend long periods of time alone.
As far as name you should have your full name in the box.
So that means your name
HOMEMAKER, will nurture and support, will create lavish environments.

Oh, Dear, what a strange dream
Old men shouldn’t eat meat in the evening. There were these 4 people in a room. They were in nice clothes and wearing name tags and looked like they may have been at a party or fun conference. I could see “Ben,” “Dave,” and “Rebecca,” but the 4th one always faced away from me. They had this folder they were looking at and smiling about. They were on the other side of a window and there was a tree kind of in the way The branches in the tree kept me from seeing what the front of the folder said, but once the 4th person lifted in up, and I could make out Bed Post Plan Fall Options. Could that be right? Were they deciding what kind of bedpost to buy? Weird, optional bedposts for fall… I wonder what they were really saying

Dheep,
you’re South Indian eh? My parents are from AP, Hydrabad to be exact, so I know a little telugu. Do you speak Tamil at home? And if so, do you watch tamil movies?

Actually
I’m ethnically a Sri Lankan Tamil. And I forgot how to speak it. My parents speak to me in a mix of Tamil and English at home, but I just answer back in English. Basically a process in my brain converts everything they say into English. So I can’t form Tamil sentences in my mind. Basically, I couldn’t tell you the Tamil word for almost anything, even though I would recognize it if it was spoken.
And no, I don’t want any of the movies. I find them pretty awful and clichéd. When I was younger I liked the music, but that’s about it. My dad netflix’s some of the old/new movies and watches them sporadically, but I never got into them. Since my grasp of Tamil is pretty basic, I’m fine with basic conversation, but a lot of the time I have difficulty with things that are more literary or abstract, like song lyrics. Also, Indian Tamil has a different accent, so that mucks things up even further.

Motion Capture suits
They put them in the suits with the lil’ sensors on them (that’s what the balls are) and then they play some baskie-ball and the computer reads and remembers their movements so in the video game (NBA LIVE) their video game versions move exactly how they move in real life.
It’ll get Roy’s shooting form, how he dribbles, dunks, how he LEADS.
What the hell is Bargnani doing there? At first I was like, who dat white dude? Is that Bogut? Nahh, Bogut is bigger than that—ohhh, it’s Andy Barggle Darglenani.
Or, Bustnani as Raptor fans call him.
Only the coolest of the cool players get to do this motion capture stuff and be flown out by the video game people and all that, so again: why Bargnani? Is Italy that big of a market? I don’t even know if they’re a real country anymore, it’s like Atlantis or something.

NO U R RONG
I’d say Gay is gonna be really good also, but I prefer a scoring big man who can also play good defense to a scoring wing who doesn’t play defense.
LMA + Oden will be unstoppable; Gay will be another great SF scorer. He might develop his all-round game more (or really, I know he will since he’s so young), but he’s a pretty one-way player.
Unless were talking about each dude in a vacuum and not regarding wins and losses, I think LMA is more beneficial for a team that wants to win, even if Gay scores more.

Well yeah
I’d say LMA’s game is a better fit with the Blazers and would probably help a team out more.
But I like the type of game Gay plays, stylistically. If he becomes a Shawn Marion type defender, I’d say he would be a great addition.
I guess I haven’t seen enough of the LMA/Oden combo.

How have you not seen enough
They have played more than enough to know they are going to be the best duo ever in the history of the NBA… for big men, anyways. DO YOU NOT WATCH THE GAMES?!
Yeah, Gay is athletic, but he doesn’t really put the effort in on defense like Shawn Marion. I could see Gay being a Josh Smith sort, where he gets lotsa’ blocks but sucks one on one, but Marion is a pretty steep level to reach and Gay hasn’t exactly shown defensive chops to be even considered not-a-hindrance defensively.
HOWEVER—Memphis as a whole was abysmal defensively and perhaps the lack of focus as a team on that side of the ball kinda made Gay not worry about it too much, and he just hasn’t been taught and/or told to play defense.
He SHOULD be a good defender, and he’s young so we’ll see.
Point is: Oh my GAWD you are WRONG.

I saw the Jonas Brothers on TV last night.
Yikes. What the heck is up with having the extra brother who does nothing but sing back up? He wasn’t even all that great as eye candy. I know each half generation must have its own terrible boy band, but blech!

Speaking of names, I’m sure Dheepan has his name misprounced or butchered in someway which I bet is very frustrating.
Does anyone have a last name that always gets mistaken for being your first name, a la Brandon Roy?
This happens to me all the time and frankly it gets a little old. Yes, I realize that I have two first names. However, my freaking last name has been around for many generations (thousands of years) as opposed to being some trendy baby naming fad over the last 50 years or so – so get it right. Also, if there’s a coma involved, guess what that’s not my first name, schmuck. Sorry, I had to get that off my chest.
Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend y’all!

I get that too with my name, though my last name isn’t a common first name but people sometimes call me by that and think it’s my real first name. And I never correct them! For you cannot willingly give your enemy intimate knowledge of your deepest darkest secrets…
I like all my names though, so I can’t be too bugged by it.
Dunno what made everyone do this, but Madison became a uber-popular girl’s name some 8 years ago or so, and now it’s like a cliche to name your kid that. So I ask thee: is your last name Madison?

It is indeed a gorgeous place. What’s funny though, is that when you get out of the city it becomes countryside. Where she lives is only about a 10-15 minute drive from Zurich but it looks like she’s living in a tiny village. It’s pretty different from the US, and most other developed Western nations in that respect. Escaping the city life is really easy.
The architecture there is also very impressive. Good mix of sleek modern design and Victorian cobblestone streets.
I liked Geneva just as much, because the weather seemed better whenever I went there. Plus it’s right on a lake. The women there were gorgeous. But that might be because I prefer the darker Italian/French look to the Germanic peoples.

Has anyone seen it yet? The previews look funny, but I was waiting to see it until I heard some reviews. Plus, I was hoping to get a hold of a little stick icky before going to see it.

"stick icky"
Way to be coy about it. I really enjoy that M.I.A. track “Paper Planes” (All I wanna do, ckchew, ckchew, ckhew, ckhew and a and take your money) they play during the previews. Do you really want to hear about it before going to see it? I know that if there is a movie I am absolutely interested in seeing, I like to avoid hearing about it before I go. If it’s a movie I *think I might want to see I read the reviews and like to get feedback. I’m sure it’s reasonably entertaining relative to the summer crap that’s available. It seems to involve a lot of “sticky icky” anyway, if you’re into that I’m sure you’ll enjoy it ;) I can proudly say I haven’t partaken in nearly 8 1/2 months. Time for me to grow up. Go me!

I haven't seen it
But I saw one of the dudes on Conan and they showed a clip with the really ugly guy with a neck brace. He pulled out a little pistol and said he missed the guy because he used it when he was a prostitute. It might be the only funny line in the movie but it was enough to make me want to watch it.

Ain't seen anyone post this yet--
http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2008/aug/08/griz-sign-hawks-smith-offer-sheet/
JOSH SMITH OFFERED MONEY by the MEMPHIS GRIZZLE-LIES.
Less than 12 million a year (less than I thought he’d get). I’m sure the Hawks will match (and perhaps that was the plan all along by Smith’s agent). I dunno if Smith wants to play in/for Memphis, and I dunno if Memphis wants the big contract, even if it’s attached to a very talented young versatile SF/PF.
Oops, and the offer sheet has been signed so now the Hawks got 7 days to match. If they don’t… I dunno man, I dunno. Even if they don’t want the kid’s attitude and future coach-killing ways, they’re kinda stuck after the Childress disaster.
I hope Grizzly fans aren’t getting too excited just yet…

That's another way to use your cap space: Kill the financial planning of other teams ;-)
Memphis said the whole season they don’t want to spend their cap space. Now this. Well, either they get “stuck” with a very talented player for an acceptable price, or they managed to get another team to pay maybe a little more for him than they wanted. Maybe we should do the same next year with attractive offers for one or two good restricted free agents: If the other team matches, too bad, now they have to pay him. If they don’t, you get a quality player.
Yes, there is the cap hold issue, but that’s usually a theoretical problem since it’s only for a week. As some ESPN commentator (Simmons?) said: What’s the worst thing that can happen? That you sign Ricky Davis a week later? (Take that, LA Clippers)

Quarter Season Games...Go Buy Them!
I don’t know if anyone is interested or not, but I was able to secure my quarter season tickets today (Blazer site is lying!). So, I suggest that anyone who is interested, call them today to get them. I also suggest getting the “Cleveland” package as I did. It includes the following games: OPENING NIGHT: San Antonio, 11/19: Chicago, 12/16: Sacramento, 12/23: Denver, 01/07: Detroit, 01/21: Cleveland, 02/08: New York (blah), 03/07: Minnesota, 03/11: Dallas, 03/26: Phoenix and April 13: OKC Who-evers. Some lame games, but a couple GREAT games.

Centering around (who else?) Ime Udoka
Excerpt: “In the middle of the whole thing I heard Ime, literally in mid-swing of another opponent say,"Watch back, Gabe" and he calmly, I mean calmly, smeared a guy who, as I turned to see his warning, jumped from the stands with a chair to probably kill me or knock me out to where the crowd would have. I mean, Ime caught the guy in mid air with a fist and calmly continued his dispacthing of oncoming people. He and other guys (yes, me too) were whoopin’ so many people the crowd backed up. True to the letter! But Ime had the most notches by far.”

You are right. With those teeth, his hair, and that almost cartoonish placement of that scar, he would probably great reduce the Blazer’s cuteness quotient. Seriously, if anyone could be made into a animated character in the NBA, or the Euroleague, it would be Josh Childress.

That both are ugly and be friends again?
I think Josh Smith has taken some pretty ugly pictures that teams take before the season starts for their bio, like headshot pics. He’s kinda funny looking.
But Childress is either real ugly or adorable. I say neither, and just see him as flat out goofy looking.
Brandy is funny looking too.
We just gotta realize not every team can be jaw droppingly handsome as the Trail Blazers.

I just can't imagine him being romantic
He seems too innocent. He’d just blush and say “awww, GORSH” when his girlfriend tries to kiss him.
The “girlfriend” might have been arranged by his agent for endorsement purposes, just like when Michael Jackson would have female dates to award shows and stuff. With all Outlaw has riding on his millions of dollars worth of endorsements, and his image he has to project to keep up with the mystique of Travis Outlaw, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Not saying he doesn’t like girls, just saying he’s a furry.
Oh, wait, no I’m not. But what if?!

Either X marked the spot
Or you accidentally hit SHIFT-A. Shift-A clears all the new ones (handy for when you want to lose your place and not realize which posts are the new ones), and X does what Z does except it doesn’t move you to the next new post. Maybe there was only one new post?
To be safe, I just use the C button, except during fast moving threads. For those, I gotta Z it up because it’ll take too long to cycle through the posts I just read once it starts looping around. A gameday thread, for example, requires the Z key.
VIVA LA Z KEY.

Jail Blazers no more. I have risen with the Trail Blazers, and look to continue rising with my team. Way to go, to a team that has really pulled themselves up. Nate, KP, Paul, Brandon. Greg, Martell, Travis, LMA, Rudy, Jerryd etc. Great management, ownership, great players. Makings of good in Portland. Honored to be one who ” rises with you ” all as a fan.

i’m going to try not to worry about Brandon’s knee. I just called my brother and was talking to him. He’s a little pissed to say the least. I’ve got to get up early tomorrow (it’s an hour later here) so I’m off to bed. It was great talking with you. If you ever need anything, seriously, just let me know. Talk to you later.
