OT -- When Sports Radio got the best of me...
Okay BlazerManiacs, this one's not one of my finest moments but I think it should be brought to light before the season (and game-day emotion) start to become the norm around here.
So here we go. It was Monday, July 7, and I wanted to call "The Jim Rome Show" to "have a take" about the Sonics. Little did I know I would be taken on an hour-long ride of depraved humor by a gut-less comic and eventually slammed against the wall.
Things to point out:
--The first two voices you hear are local Sports Talk Radio show hosts
--The photo illustrations were done by me in an attempt to get some frustrations out
--The letter read at the end was written by me on that day and stands as one of my finest pieces of sports literature ever written
--Bob's Burgers and Brew is a restaurant up here in Whatcom County that sells Burgers and beer. Sadly, nobody showed up for me that night.
Anyway, it's just one YouTube away... Right here, for your enjoyment! (pops)

An interesting point about Bob's...
They’re expanding, amazingly, past the reaches of Bellingham. They’ve got locations as far south as Marysville (halfway between Seattle and Bellingham, pretty much) and actually demand a net worth of $2.5 million to franchise. Good deal for a local startup.

Wow…that’s great news. Glad to hear it they’re doing well. I used to go there when I was in college. I lived in B’ham for 5 years (4 while going to WWU, and 1 just hangin’). I worked at the Circuit City at Bellis Fair for a year or two, and also at a few Payless Shoe Source stores (mainly to pick up on cute Canadian girls).
Arliss’ still has the best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had.. it’s my breakfast of choice when I’m up there.

Biscuits and gravy are top notch together
They’re like an unstoppable tandem… Great to wake up to B&G, great to have that as food coma fare. The best I’ve had was at the Little Cheerful, yum. I’m going to have to try Arliss’ one of these days when I’m looking for breakfast…

I only know of 3 places on Oahu get get B&G
One place only has them during football season. It’s rather sad to me.

Who needs B&G when you can have a loco moco?

What?
I honestly have no idea what I’m looking at here. OK, sure, I see some egg and rice (?), and white creamy stuff, the brown stuff I’m going to assume is gravy. What is this a fetus or something? I’m both horrified and yet in complete awe of this picture.

Well sure,
I guess I could have clicked on the picture seeing as it’s a link to Wikipedia. It is still horrific.

First they steal your team, then you get cut off trying to vent about it. Tough week. My condolences.

Here is something to crack you up from the ESPN Page 2 UniWatch OKC Jersey design competition – didn’t win overall but “Best Sour Grapes” ;-)

I love the alternate uniform
And the worst part about that week…? Aside from basketball, it was not seeing fireworks on the fourth of July, thanks to work obligations.

Rude and not funny
If you ever listen to Jimmeny Rome again you are a chump. (Maybe slightly) You should boycott every advertister on the show and write them letters telling them about it.
OR…
Start calling Rome Jimminy, like the cricket, cause he’s so small and has short man’s complex soooo bad.
As for Jay… Well he doesn’t really have much of a career so what can you do to hurt him? I’m done with him until he appologises to you personally. You have one convert.

Man, that was harsh.
Sorry to hear that. As if you weren’t wounded enough. Welcome to the Blazers though!

Sweet
It’s pretty funny once you listen to it. I can’t do YouTube at work.

Dude
I’m a Rome fan but I never bother to listen when that horses backside “Slam Man” is guest hosting. I laugh at most things and I can honestly say I’ve never laughed at anything that guy has said or done. Your example continues a long string of garbage from the fellow and that’s your misfortune.
Welcome to the Blazers. It’ll take a little time to heal but in the end you’ll have more fun on this side of the Columbia. And remember, your town was once located in the Oregon Territory so you’re welcome here.

His area was
a part of Clackamas county too. That was a BIG county back then! Hate to the Sherriff of the county!
