Can Steven Hill make the roster?

Camp invite, maybe. Only if Pryzbilla isn’t 100%.
He’s slow, stiff, unathletic and doesn’t look very strong. I think you forgot that Robin freaking Lopez torched him that game against Phoenix.
Granted, he’s a decent shot blocker, but that’s about it as far as NBA talent is concerned. I’d be surprised if he made the roster of a decent Euro league team.

Robin Freaking Lopez
was almost a lottery pick and he was 2 for 10 from the field in the game, so I’m not sure I agree.
Hill’s gonna get a look from somebody in the NBA- he’ll be in somebody’s camp. He seems to be cut from the same mold as Chris Dudley. As for the Blazers, the only way I can see him on the roster is if we start the season with 14 and then one of our bigs goes down.

No
That was the other Lopez, Brook.
Robin was the one that was charted to be in the late 1st round until a few weeks before the draft. There weren’t too many decent big men this class.

I think ur confused
Brook went 10th and Robin went 15th. So it was Robin he was talking about. None of that matters though, all that matters is Steven Hill!!!! He’s awesome and if we ever switched our mascot to a pioneer or a lumberjack he could do that for us at halftime and during timeouts. If signed we should add a no-shave clause to his contract!

I know my Lopezii
By “almost a lottery pick” I meant that he was taken one spot out of the lottery, not that he was projected as a lottery pick. I’m not sure how he torched Hill by making 2 field goals.

it was a reply to the infallible Dheepan.
it feels good to be able to tell him he’s wrong, only because it’s such a rare occasion

And
Oh my bad. I thought you meant the latter.
All I remember from that game is Robin making “the slowest spin move in the history of basketball” and dunking on Hill (was that even him?). So I thought he had a much better game.
Well that and Jerryd “ending DJ Strawberry’s career”.

I don't think he will make OUR roster
Though I’m sure with his raw defensive talent there will be a team somewhere in the NBA who could use a guy like that. If grown long enough, the beard alone would intimidate most opponents.
If not on the NBA, he’ll go to europe and make more there than he would here.

I heard LAs looking at him
Must be trying to clean up their image. He could fit in nicely, though, as a bench toughie. For some reason, I also think he’d fit in well in that movie, “Newsies.” He’s tough but probably likes to sing and dance. Must be why LA wants him.

I can see
Hill AND Pickett ending up somewhere. Pickett seems to be pretty darm atheletic, and he can shoot. If I needed a decent 2 with some size, I’d bring him to camp.

Yes. Sorry.
I was thinking either Pickett or Pinnock. 50% chance. That’s why I never did very well at True False quizzes. I have a habbit of talking myself out of the right answers! :-)

That's why I'm
wondering if it wouldn’t be good to keep him around. Keep Joel from getting baged up too bad from Greg in practice. It would be good for Hill’s future too. To go up aganst a future HOF’er!

maybee
he might get bed sores from all the hospital time he puts in. I wonder if spam could just pay the guy to show up at the practice facility, much like a janitor, or sweat wiper upper? is rm0r71rm3r, jscott, bfan, kp corleon, eldon, any body that could answer that question. can we pay this guy to show up for practice, but not give him a roster spot, i dont see why not.

why would Hill do that?
Why wouldn’t he take a spot in the D League or Europe? Your scenario makes no sense whether its allowed or not (and its probobly not).

no
no….no….god no.
Steven Hill is not taking a roster spot, or even being considered for one. If KP had planned on heading into the season with a 15 man roster, PK would have been signed weeks ago. He wants that extra spot for some potential trade flexibility later in the season.
And steven hill looked “OK” playing in the summer league against bottom of the barrel players, and the only reason for that was that we had nothing going for our team down low at all. This does not mean he is going to be able to play at anything near NBA level.
I look pretty good playing ball with my little brothers, but that call from team canada still hasnt come…

apparently
Steven Hill is in Portland right now! He is working out against Oden, along with Channing. This according to J. Quick over at oregonlive.com.
