Oden says his left knee is hurting more than his right...
I was watching Oden's interview (http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2008/08/rip_city_revival_big_mans_smal.html)
and noticed he drops this bomb towards the end: his left knee hurts more than his right one at times. Nobody has made a big deal out of this yet, so I must ask, is it? Did he mean that, prior to surgery, he was compensating for his hurt right knee to the point that his left was sore? Or is it sore independent from the injury sustained on his right knee?
It certainly worried me to hear that.

I think it was sarcastic
He was probably just trying to convince the media that his knee is all better. so much so that it feels better than his knee that didn’t have surgery.

perhaps
he was making the point that his right knee is soo good that his healthy knee is the one that hurts not the injured one..i wouldn’t worry

I believe both Amare Stoutemire and Kenyon Martin
both had trouble with their off knee after surgery. Over compensation perhaps.
Aldridge said. "We feel like we can beat any team. We feel like we can beat the Spurs, Suns, Lakers, Mavericks, whoever any night right now, and we'll still be here when those teams get old and their guys retire. We're going to be here for a long time."

Stronger muscles supporting the injured knee after rehab since this is in focus
Happens all the time, not just after micro-fracture but also after ACL surgeries. To athletes and to normal people. That will level out during the next months.

Anyone know the actual difference between Oden’s leg lengths?

Understandably so
however, you guys read way too into what comes out of Greg’s mouth. I think it was a couple shows back where Mike and Mike commented on Greg not saying as much lately for this very reason. I wouldn’t worry, it’s pretty normal after most leg injuries for the ‘healthy’ one to be a bit sore.

Not Exactly True
He did not say in the interview that his left knee was hurting. He said “My right knee is so much stronger than my left knee.” That is very different, and it makes sense considering all the rehab he has done on the right knee. He said he could count on one hand how many times he had pain in either of his knees – meaning neither one has been bothering him much.

I thought
That was post was going to be satirical one about how we look way too much into things our players (especially Oden) say. Oh well.

After my 1st ACL surgery. . .
my rehab improved the strength in my left knee,
but my right knee would get sore due to carrying
so much of the load. You naturally favor the bad
knee and put more weight and drive thru the good
one. In 89, they had to open up the whole knee to
graft part of the patellar tendon into the ACL. This
is the worst surgery and I was back on the court in
a year. The mental part took much longer, as trusting
that damaged limb on hard cuts/jumping was difficult.
It's GO time !

But a good idea. The Blazers played a pre season game in Medford a few years ago and would sell out the rural grade school gym where we play.
