Shaun Livingston works out for Warriors
I have always thought that Shaun Livingston had potential to be a great point guard and he was on track till the one of the nastiest knee injuries in recent memory put him out of action for the past year and a half.
I have been wondering if this would become a Jay Williams situation but in the nba rumors section on ESPN today it has a piece about Livingston potentially working out with the Warriors. If this is true why not give Livingston a chance to work out for the Blazers.
At worst he isn't ready to come back yet, at best you potentially get a former top 5 pick with room to go grow for what has to be a pretty substantial discount.

Oh God Oh God Oh god
I just watched the Shaun Livingston injury again to refresh my mind.
I don’t know why.
"Jerryd is straight ahead at you. Rudy dips around. Jerryd is a rock. Rudy is the wind. Jerryd loves the ball in his hands. Rudy moves without it. Jerryd defends by getting up in your grill. Rudy plays the spaces in between. Jerryd has focused vision. Rudy sees all around him. Jerryd likes to score off of the dribble. Rudy can catch and shoot. Jerryd is aggressive. Rudy is sneaky. Jerryd will hit you hard. Rudy will annoy you until you hit him." -Dave

There's only one way to get that image out of your head:
Joe Theismann.

That usually works
Brian Young always works for me. I remember being a little kid watching that Monday Night Football game. They replayed the leg break so many times I think it seared itself into my adolescent mind.

I've never watched the Livingston injury
cant. I saw the Joe brake on that Monday Night game and though horrible was hard not to watch… over and over and over. Then years later I saw it and I’ll never watch that again.
My reason for not being able to watch any leg injury was because I myself suffered a horrid ankle injury just after high school and I’ve not been able to watch anything like it since.

I apologize for posting this
1:51 is when livingston goes down. His leg is so twisted….it is disturbing.

Oopps
Use this one. This one actually opens in a new window.
Or better yet use none of the above and save yourself some pain.

Because
we don’t need a point guard. How could we possibly find minutes for another guard? It would certainly come at the sacrifice of Blake, Roy, Rudy, Bayless, or Sergio. I think it will be important for us to give as many minutes to these guys as possible this year to figure out what we have.

Sadly, It's like Jason Williams (Jay, the motorcycle guy)
He worked out for a handful of teams. He was a high pick so teams kept giving him a look. But his injuries are so nasty, he never could come back. Wiki says he signed with a D-League team but was waived because he was still so hurt. I remember reading a story on him that he could dunk again and I felt warm because I figured he’d get a chance to play the game he loves again. But no.
I’m afraid Shawn Livingston may never play again. I’d hate to see him play and destroy what little bit of knee he has left, you know. But I hope he he is able to make the comeback… and hell, if he’s better than JR Pinnock was in summer league, even the Blazers should look at him.

Posted that already yesterday and before: Quite a lot of teams should have taken a look at him
He is a high risk – high reward young player with unusual point-forward skills, who has been cleared to do similar workouts to what Greg is doing right now. He might not be read to return for another few months, but before I take Sun Yue as the Lakers did (probably more of a marketing stunt), I would take a long look on this guy. Well, and on his MRIs of course.
Odenied: Asked whether he noticed Oden favoring his right knee, Frye dismissed it entirely. "He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors."

The Darius Miles precedent:
High-risk/high-reward becomes low-risk/high-reward if it’s not a guaranteed contract.
Wonder if ShaLi is ready to enter a training camp under a non-guaranteed contract yet.
If not, he’ll probably be left sitting until he IS ready for that.
And I betcha any and every team halfway interested in him knows that, too . . .
