Last night's gold medal olympic game was the first game I've watched, in its entireity with not only my dad but my brother as well. the whole family once followed the blazers. they still read about the team, but never watch -- not fans of what the nba has become.
but last nights game wasn't basketball anyone could hate -- we were rivetted and all excited to see rudy, who played so well. DUNK! good for odens defense practice too, huh?
but the thing that really had me thinking is how frustrated lebron must be going back to cleveland. he and kobe I think play very well together. They ought to buy a franchise, and move to the team together. They can recruit their own all star teammates: "veteran's minimum, my man, but -- how about this team marketing contract LeBron industries can provide for you? did I mention we're 32-2 in the playoffs the last 2 seasons?"
do the rules prevent this? so many players wind up coaches and gms, why wait to do it when you can assemble your ideal team? who wouldn't want to be on a team that can win like this us olympic team?
oh wait. it'll be jay-z's team in brooklyn with lebron and kobe. william wesley scouting the youngsters, i can see it all now ....
