Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

We have a chance

All hope has been lost for the beginning of the season.  Especially those first two games.  That impossible game in Los Angeles against the MVP and his gang of little followers, and then to follow it up there is the home opener against San Antonio.   All is lost... right?.... I don't think so.   the stars of both those teams are playing in the Olympics, which puts a lot more stress and ware on the body.  Kobe has his pinkie injury, or whatever, that has been bothering him since he the all star break, (which is why roy got so much time in the game) and i heard while watching one of the Olympic games that he will probably undergo surgery.     And Manu ginobli has had a hurt ankle for a long time, and has now taken another fall, and could undergo surgery.  Now, these surgeries could go as smoothly as roys, and be ready for their games, but they might also have some leftover effects of the surgery, and may not be at 100%.  If by some way we won, because they wernt there, it wouldn't be as sweet, but any W is sweeter than L.  Just imagine if we did win, and they were there, the world would really have to take notice.   No matter what the circumstances, it will be tough, with so many young and inexperienced players, but hopefully everyone shows up early for training camp like last year to help get things started, and jellin as soon as possible.  Basically, this means that we might at least have some hope in these games, no matter how small it is.  And lets just hope that we got our injuries out of the way.

I admire your enthusiasm

but to be honest, I don’t think anybody outside of the fanbases of those three cities will give a hoot. Weird things always happen during the first three weeks of the season, and seldom does that time frame provide an accurate barometer of how the rest of the season will go. It would be sweet to beat both of them, though….take the first two steps towards 55 early!

heck yes we have a chance!

I fully expect that our team will play the F*kers evenly and be in serious contention for the win. Yes. Even on the F*kers home court.

As for the Spurs, well they are going to have to bring their A game to the Rose Garden, and I don’t think they will do that. They are going to be sluggish and rusty.

So of course we have a chance. A darn good chance IMHO. If we win the first game the exhilaration at the home opener will be even more intense. And I’m going to be there! I can’t wait. I can’t wait.

The perfect is the enemy of the good.

I believe.

Yes we have a chance. I think one we can take. Hopefully against the L-kers. Spurs will be tough though. Can’t take each other lightly. Be nice to take both, but one I think they’ll take.

We have a good chance

I think we’ll win one of the two games, but it’s completely possible that we’ll win both. We match up really well against the L*kers generally, and our youth and energy will serve us well. The Spurs are an excellent team, but for the last several seasons they have started slow, and they’ll be playing in one of the toughest home arenas in the NBA (based on last year).

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
