Rudy Semifinals

The non-US Olympic semifinals matchup between Spain and Lithuania should be shown overnight tonight on the USA network.  I'm not sure of a time but I'll be ingesting caffeine to stay up and track Rudy.  Feel free to comment on the game here if you're an overnight owl.

Dave, your awsome

I saw your piece on rudys defense discussed in the national light with high praise today. I kant remember wear it was, but im sure you see it all the time. thanks for the sacrifice, although when reading, ya kinda get that its really a labore of love. Im just glad that noaher told me about your sight when he got me kcrakced owt on some Blazers.

I'm starting to think Gavin is kind of violent or something listening to the podcast. He calls LaMarcus soft and

praises Steve Blake for fighting with Nene. LaMarcus Aldridge could really hurt someone if he wanted to, and he never looks scared out there. I mean how many times did you see Michael Jordan lose his poise? Great players don’t start fights and make cheap shots, they dominate the competition.

New times....USA 10a.m.?

Now I just saw KGW announce USA to be on at 10a.m. These Olympics have been fantastic with pretty darn good coverage. Lovin’ Bob Costas. Makes me really miss NBC doing NBA and World Series games.

But….

Finding out the times for these events and when they are broadcast is nearly impossible!!!

10:00 AM NBC time is basically the same thing as a 7:15 PDT start time

except that on the west coast it will be delayed until 10:00 AM PDT (10:15 tip-off). everything on NBC is tape-delayed (even if it says LIVE on the screen.) the cable networks are live, unless, of course, they are not.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Cardinals' middle relief corps.

Why is Rudy playing low

in that zone? Did he switch? He’s much too small for that.

Rudy’s still active, but not finishing. He looked pretty quick on that drive. They run their offense through him.

Spain is lucky to be only down by 2. They haven’t played very well. The Gasol brothers haven’t shown up yet. They would be very disappointed with the Bronze. Me too.

by parkinglotj on Aug 22, 2008 5:46 AM PDT reply actions

Rudy is really struggling with decision making

At least half of his turnovers in the Olympics have been poor lobs to either Gasol brother. Will someone please tell him he isn’t playing with Oden yet???? I love his hustle, but once again, I think Rudy has underperformed. Hopefully he plays better in half #2….

Rudy gave up a lot of 3's but he made up with it by coming through in the 4th and no forcing his offense.

I liked that he held the ball in the end instead of driving it. That’s very mature of him and is something that is very Blazer like. He’ll fit in just fine here in Portland.

His height

Should be deducible from that photo

Standing in Chicago, eyes looking west.

by jnstarbird on Aug 22, 2008 7:06 AM PDT reply actions

Somebody Check My Math

Photo Ball = 15/16" (0.9375") Diameter
Photo Rudy = 7.5" Height
Regulation Ball = 9.39" Diameter
Regulation Rudy = x Height

0.9375" / 9.39" = 7.5 / x
.9375x = 70.425
x = 75.12"
75.12" / 12 = x
x = 6.26’
12/.26 = 3.12
x = 6’3.1"

Rudy is 6’3" in shoes in that photo.

Standing in Chicago, eyes looking west.

by jnstarbird on Aug 22, 2008 7:22 AM PDT reply actions

That Should Have Read

A measurement

http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre-draft-measurements/?page=&year=2003&sort2=DESC&draft=0&pos=0&sort=

Before the 2005 draft, Rudy was about 6’5" without shoes. He coulda’ grown since then, but I’d say 6’5" at least looks right.

Well, his former club lists him at 1.96m which is 196 cm which is 77.16 inch which is 6’4.3. When he arrives in training camp, Ben can put in a request to have him measured again.
